Very simply, I do not want my child taught about sex education in school. Especially in kindergarten. home many children at that are even realize the difference between a boy and a girl. Personally I could have cared less about a girl until third grade. I couldn't even image having sex with a girl until highschool. No I know I am behind the time and more and more children at the age of 15 are having sex. But do you not think that just maybe they are having sex at a younger age because we are telling them about it. Just maybe, if we tell kindergarteners what not to touch and what not to do that it will make them curious about it and want to see why they were told not to.
Should we not teach abstinence in school? Abstinence does not offend any person, group or religious background. Unless of course you subscribe to the church of secularism! Is not abstinence the best way to prevent "illness, pregnancy, poverty, and in some cases, death" as Obama said is a major problem with not teaching sex ed.
The bottom line is, I do not want my children taught about sex, where babies come from or any other reproductive experience in school. This is something a parent needs to discuss with their child.
Instead of offering sex ed, maybe we should offer parenting classes. And not the lame classes where people have to carry dolls around, but classes on how to build trust and respect with your child. how to instill your (the parents) values and beliefs. This would not be a class to force one style of parenting, but a class that teaches the tools of parenting.
I think we need to start using a new phrase. Instead of "separation of church and state" (which I won't even get into here). How about:
