Documentation of the Development Process

The purpose of this website is to give the loyal customers of Foreward Books a method with which to inteact with their favorite bookstore. Before the implementation of this website customers were forced to either call or travel to the store itself to make reservations or order more of out-of-stock books. This website is not intended to draw in new customers, as Foreward Books is a fairly small operation that requires no such thing.

Defense of the Final Product

All the pages of the Foreward Books website are fairly homogenous, having few different features save the information on each page. Foreward Books prioritizes ease-of-use over everything else, as the clientelle of Foreward Books tend to be of a older demographic and may not be as adept at navigating a more complicated website. All decisions were made with this in mind, allowing for a site that is both eminently functional and stylish. The Site's overall design was chosen to reflect a sort of small-town or woodsy feeling, as this is the image that the owner wishes his buisiness to show. Foreward Books is a small bookstore in a small town, and its website reflects this.

Opportunities for Improvement and Growth

The Foreward Books website does present certain areas where it can be improved. Perhaps the most useful addition would be a page for new upcoming releases to drive potential pre-orders. Such a page was originally intended to be a part of the final website, but there wasn't enough time to include it before the site's initial launch. Additionally some few of the pages could do with a bit of cleaning up, altering thigns so they align a bit better and just look nicer in general.
