QUALITY CANDIDATES A SCARCE COMMODITY.
Today there is talk about how quality candidates are scarce.

Company's are putting big bucks into employer branding excercise in all the media.

They are earmarking huge amounts for training and retention.

Major coporations are spending a lot of thought and resources on recruiting.

But is there an paucity of employable talent?

If you go by the amount of resumes forwarded to me in a day and likewise to other consultants, I would say no.

The volume of resumes indicates there is no shortage of candidates.

So what is the truth.

As usual the truth lies in between.

There is no shortage of talent agreed,but the crux is the quality of the talent available.

If you advertise for any given vacancy, you will be glutted with resumes.

When you shortlist you can be sure that candidates matching your requirements are almost negligible.

This is what is worrying the coporates and the industry as such.
