Gemma Halliday Review
If you like romantic comedies but can also be found perusing a mystery every now and again, Gemma Halliday is your perfect match.

Maddie Springer is the beloved fashionable, shoe-designing chick in the High Heels series by holiday. In this installment, "Mayhem in High Heels" Maddie is preparing to wed her homicide detective beau Jack Ramirez. Then her wedding planner is found murdered ... hence the mayhem and all.

I'd say this title is more comedic than suspenseful, but could absolutely still be considered a murder mystery by those who don't like "rom coms". If you are a fan of the series you will love revisiting all the characters, such as BFF Dana, from the previous books.

I love that Maddie Springer is nervous about her wedding and she gets these recurring hiccups. Her stress isn't lessened but the fact that she's trying to track down her wedding planner's killer.

Ramirez is in charge of the case. They don't so much as work together to solve the murder, as compete to see who can seal the deal. In one scene, some surprising bets are made involving catching the killer and a killer pair of shoes.

This story is a quick-read with lots of laughs and a highly satisfying ending that will leave you hoping for more hijinks in high heels to come.
