The Nanny Diaries.. 2006
Oy! Where to start. Mostly I feel left out. Seems like all the cool kids are doing this, so when in Rome.. Where a toga?
So far I am terrible at this... August 17, 2006

The networking has begun.. a few days ago a mom from Georgia's pre-school called to ask me to babysit.  Her request was immediately followed by, " and don't worry I asked NM(nanny mom) if it would be okay to call you."  Does this mean I can now be loaned out?  I definately like to think of it as networking..  So here I sit.  The kids are in bed, and I am just hangin' out.  It's funny to think that I am right back where I started.  I started babysitting when I was 13 for extra money.  And here I am now a college student, still picking up the babysitting jobs for extra cash... bonus is I no longer only charge $5 an hour...  put a (1) in front of that and it is more accurate.

Things have been busy on the nanny front.  I have spent a lot of time taking the kids to various museums, which is not only fun for them but for me as well...  We went to the California Science Center to see a superhero exhibit.  It was great...  lots of really nice comic book stuff to look at... and a fabulous museum as well.  We have also been to the Natural History Museum, they really liked all the dinosaur fossils.

Summer is quickly winding up.  Only 2 more weeks before school starts for me.. I am all registered and ready to go.  Just need to drop the hundreds of dollars for the books. Oy!

Next friday I will be spending my evening at the Hollywood Bowl.  I am seeing a comedy nite, with the highlight being a performance by the Smothers Brothers.. should be a lot of fun..

On a more personal note...  I recently learned that Neal's(Sarah's brother and Jessica brown's son) father was struck while riding his bike to a bar to see a Grateful Dead cover band and was killed.  The authorities know what the car looked like, but have yet to get the driver.  I just don't understand people.  My heart goes out to Neal, and his family..  I love you all, and am keeping you in my thoughts...

until next time....
