Well... here I sit.  Housesitter extraordinaire.  Just me, 2 cats, and a dog.  For the last 12 or so days, we have had nothing but "extreme heat warnings".  A warning for extreme heat.  And I think, gee... maybe that means the traffic will not be so bad on the freeway(s). Wrong.  So very very wrong.  Seems like there are more people.  I seriously wish I could carpool.  But I drive children around for playdates, gymnastics, school, swim lessons, more play dates, and to the park.  Where I am the only non hispanic nanny!  I sit by myself, feeling totally outa place.  I finally made a friend, another "white" nanny, as my nanny mom calls her.  Guess I can return those "learn to speak spanish" tapes.  Adios!
