| A Place Where I Can Vent About The Stupidity Of The World Around Me And Point Out The Facts And Fiction We Share! | |||||
Apology goes a long way.
The difference a day can make is amazing and some would say prayers were answered, when today the same man who likened himself to the Grinch by his actions has asked for forgiveness today. He is quoted as saying,"I may have ruined the spirit of the season for others". No, he is not a rocket scientist, he is a Rabbi! A man and some would say a flawed man for his narrow minded belief system which would not include the understanding of other persons remembrances during this time of year. As a man of the cloth you would believe his counsels need be wise and just because many look to the leaders of the community as upright and principled. He has today taken steps to regain his position as a man of his word because he asked for the trees to be returned to their original abodes where holiday goers could enjoy the sight of trees decorated those passing though the airport. These were people far from home away from family and friends, looking for familiarity while surrounded by strangers. The trees now adorn the walkways and food court, the concourse and the transfer areas brightening the eyes and lifting the load from the hearts of those who pass by hour upon hour. I would like to nominate this Rabbi for changed religious leader of the week and it would be interesting to see how his congragation interacts with him this following holy day. I would ask him to continue his mind expanding insight and ask his people to buy a few extra Menorah's and teach non-members the meaning behind it and why it makes such an important part in there traditions. First, place them out in the community and than as people get used to seeing them, he can educate those who have questions. A rabbi has a station to adhere to and unconditional love is one of them with all people whether they are a part of jhis flock or not. Now , if we all could take note from this Rabbi and change the bigotry in our own lives, and learn exceptence of people different from themselves, in not only cultural and religiously, but a real understanding of each races nuances and beliefs. Learning about the people, the places, and the world as a whole raise our own spiritual sense of being and help us all grow as members of the human race. I hope we can all grow past hatred and more towards patience for all peoples of the world. 2006-12-14 07:11:50 GMT
