"Faithful Is..." Introduction

Hello, and welcome to the first posting of the "Faithful Is..." 49ers football blog. My name is James Darnell. I am a life-long resident of Sacramento, CA and a life-long San Francisco 49ers fan to boot. I am currently a sportswriter for three seperate publications, the Sacramento Union newspaper in Sacramento, CA, as well as the Elk Grove Citizen newspaper in nearby Elk Grove, CA. The third entity I write for is 49ersWebzone.com, a highly-respected and widely known 49ers' fan site. With the two newspapers, I cover the local preps sports scene, as a columnist for the Union and a stringer for the Citizen.

In regards to 49ers football, as stated I am an avid fan and supporter, as well as reporter. I have been attending games as a fan since I was a child, with my most fond memory coming in 2002, when I was in attendance for the New York Giants/49ers Wildcard playoff. Two years ago, I had the 49ers helmet in full color and detail tattooed onto my right arm, forever marking my devotion to one of the most storied franchises in professional sports.

With this blog, my goal is to share my insight and opinions towards all things 49ers, with original articles and breaking news updates. Although my fanaticism would seem to make any opinion or written piece appear biased, that is not my approach. I intend to "tell it like it is," not allowing any fanatical impulses to cloud my judgement. Starting with the 2007 Training Camp, I will cover the 49ers through and through. Check back and see what is new with the beloved 49ers, leave some comments, or let me know what you think.
