In case you missed it, and you’d be lucky if you did, Ann Coulter was up to her tricks again recently on the CNBC show ‘The Big Idea” with Donny Deutsch.
As FoxNews.com put it…
Slash-and-burn columnist Ann Coulter shocked a cable TV talk-show audience Monday when she declared that Jews need to be "perfected" by becoming Christians, and that America would be better off if everyone were Christian…. Coulter deflected Deutsch's assertion that her comments were anti-Semitic, matter-of-factly telling the show's obviously upset host, "That is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews."
Here’s some of the transcript:
COULTER: No, we think — we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say.
DEUTSCH: Wow, you didn't really say that, did you?
COULTER: Yes. That is what Christianity is. We believe the Old Testament, but ours is more like Federal Express. You have to obey laws. We know we're all sinners.
Ok, there’s our proof. She really IS mentally ill. That or she’s just another shock-jock practicing a Barnum and Bailey-like “there’s a sucker born every minute” trick to sell more books and get more talk show gigs.
Coincidently, while in a Bible Study class Wednesday night I ran across two verses that pretty well addresses Coulter and her latest ranting.
First, concerning the whole “fast track” idea that Christians only have to believe and don’t have to practice their faith:
James 2:17:
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
Second and lastly, as an observation on Coulter’s whole persona:
James 1:26:
If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.
I think that pretty well says it all concerning Coulter and many of her peers.
