02/09/2009 Alternative Route to Licensure Provisional license is by employer request. Must take VCLA and PRAXIS II. I am exempt from Virginia Reading Assessment. Level I requires 180 hours of instruction. Provisional Career Switcher License will be awarded, and then can seek employment. Level II requires 20 cumulative hours of instruction. Completion plus a recommendation from employer makes candidate eligible to apply for a renewable license.
