Ayumi Hamasaki, Ayu as fans call her is a singer and a songwriter, raised in Fukuoka in Japan. Ayumi popularity has also spread into the influence in Japan and she has earned the name ‘Empress of Pop’. At the age of fourteen Ayumi moved over to Tokyo to follow an ambition in the entertainment industry. In 1998 she had released singles that sold very well; this started her career as a singer. Getting her signed up to create her debut album names ‘A Song for xx.’ Ayumi suddenly became popular as her debut album stayed top in the charts for four weeks. Hamasaki has just grown from strength to strength as she has sold over 50 million records in Japan alone, this figure has put her at the top with the best-selling artists in Japan. Ayumi Hamasaki has produced fourteen studio albums in Japan as still continues to create new singles and albums. There is no stopping this amazing artist, from day one as a singing career Ayumi has not stopped producing outstanding pieces of music.
