| Kroot of the Quel-Thalas Kindred The Quel-Thalas warrior kindred left the Kroot homeworld of Pech shortly after Angkhor Prok swore loyalty to the Tau empire on behalf of the whole Kroot race. They were at first hesitant to form an allegiance with the Tau and instead chose to sell their services amongst the stars. When the Imperium invaded Tau space in the Damocles Crusade, the Quel-Thalas kindred returned to fight alongside with their brethren in the defense of their worlds. During the crusade the kindred learned to respect the Tau way of battle, and while stopping short of full loyalty, agreed to offer their services to the Tau when needed. Always desiring the challenge of fighting and consuming the DNA of new species, the Quel-Thalas kindred still navigates the stars searching for superior genetic material to bring back home to Pech. The 13th Crusade against Cadia was an immense opportunity to obtain such material, and the Quel-Thalas kindred participated in full. Offering their services to both the Imperium and the forces of Chaos during the campaign, there was no army the Kroot would not fight for if the price was right. While their warsphere was heading back to Pech the Quel-Thalas kindred came across the modern-day jungle planet of Coheed VII. Sensing its opportunities, Master Shaper Krae Oaka ordered a planet fall immediately. |
