World Flag Activity

Girls work in patrols or small groups of four.  For each group, make a set of cards the size of index cards or playing cards.  Print the following statements on the cards:

          Three parts of the Promise
          Flame of the love of humanity
          The compass needle points the way
          The Promise and Law
          World Wide Association
          The sun shining over the children of the world
          Three parts of the Promise
          Peace

From fabric or light cardboard, prepare for each group the following parts of the World Flag, and put them in an envelope:

          Blue background
          Yellow-gold circle
          Flame
          Trefoil
          Stars
          Compass needle
          Yellow-gold squares
          White corner piece

(The pieces may be coloured, or they can be plain and the girls can colour them.)

One at a time, the girls in each group draw two cards each.  Then each girl picks the pieces of flag that go with the descriptions on her cards.

The girls put together the World Flag, with each girl placing one piece at a time.
