Izzy Border Watt

When asked how IBW came to be what it is today, Brad replied "A child's voice asking `Is he bored or what?' and a guitar screaming `YES!'." Adam answered this in one word, "desire." Mike's point of view was very important, "Our sticking together through all the member changes and down time we've had."

The current line up began in 1996. Brad and his friend, Marcus Bading, (former percussionist for IBW) began putting down the riffs to many of the songs that are on the demo cd. Brad met Adam through the local swimming pool supply warehouse where Adam was employed at the time. Adam recalls, Brad was looking for a bass player and asked me if I'd like to play. I did and I played bass for a month or so. Then I persuaded Brad to let me play his guitar because he wanted a "really good lead guitar player." He didn't want to, he already had someone picked out. So I just picked up his classical guitar one day and proceeded to play...something...Brad was in awe! The next practice, I played my fiddle, and hence I am the lead guitarist of Izzy Border Watt. Of course that left IBW in need of a good bass player. Adam had been in a band with Mike previous to IBW, so he recommended him. They asked him to play and he did.

Between 1996 and 2002, IBW has went through countless numbers of drummers. So many that 12 year old Lyndsay Lawson, (the voice of Otis And The Pumpkin, then age 9) asked, "Why is it always the drummer?"

Izzy Border Watt is currently in search of a creative and versatile drummer in the central Arkansas area. Applicant must be available to practice/gig on weeknights and weekends. If interested, send an email to [email protected]
