Izzee was born near Atlanta, Georgia, early in November of 1998. She is a liver-and-white English Springer Spaniel. She now lives in southeastern Michigan. |

| How Izzee Got Her New Home |
|
|
|
Izzee's human Mom and Dad had talked about getting a dog for a long time. They already had a teenage son and 2 cats: Ashley and George. On Thanksgiving weekend in 1998, their cousins from Georgia were visiting in Michigan. As usual, they'd brought their dog, Bailey, with them. She's a liver-and-white English Springer Spaniel, and was about a year and a half old. Izzee's Mom and Dad thought she was wonderful, and jokingly said, "You don't have to take Bailey back to Georgia. You can leave her here with us in Michigan." They were surprised by the reply, "Well, the breeder has a litter of puppies out of the same parents right now, and they'll be ready to go to new homes after Christmas." They thought about it, and talked about it, and finally decided that they wanted one of Bailey's little sisters for their own. |

| Izzee's Trip Home |

| In the middle of January, 1999, Dad drove down to Atlanta to get Izzee and bring her home. He spent the weekend with his cousins, and with Bailey, Izzee, and Spencer, one of Izzee's litter mates, who was staying at Bailey's house for the winter, but would eventually be going to live with other family members in Massachusetts. The trip home from Georgia to Michigan was a 12-hour drive. Izzee rode in her cage in the back seat of the truck cab for the first 20 minutes, crying the whole time. After that, Dad let her ride on the seat next to him. She lay with her chin on his leg, and slept most of the way home. |
