Disclaimer, yet again: I DO NOT OWN GUNDAM WING OR ITS
CHARACTERS. But, again, Kalli, Trin, and Iz, belong to me.
Oh, and imaginary Heero and Duo have returned!
*cuddles* They still think I'm too old (being a
22-yr-old), but they felt bad for leaving me. *giggle*

Heart of the Storm
Chapter Seven
Sarris.
Sarris. Their voices were only a
whisper.
He thought he heard her voice as he looked out the window into the darkness of
space. Was it guilt? Certainly wasn’t mourning. She did her
job. She took care of the Storm. Although she was foolish enough to
self detonate, the job was done.
He really had loved her once, long ago. Then two friends of hers came for
a visit. He had recognized them from their days together in Oz. The
three of them were always very close. Trinity, Kalinda, and Day. As long as
he had known them. Then, just as soon as they had come, they
disappeared with Trinity along with them.
And, not six months later, he found out that she had joined the Preventers with them. They called themselves “the
Storm”. Preventers Tempest, Lightning, and Thunder.
Then, after a year, he had lost all hope of her returning. He called her
a traitor and offered a very high reward for her capture.
She and the Storm escaped every trap that was set. They were inseparable.
A year and a half ago, she appeared on his doorstep, turning herself in.
He hadn’t expected this and he certainly never thought of what he was going to
do once he had her.
She had told him she had information that would help him against the Preventers. She said she would only give him the info
if he would take her back, forgive her, accept her
apology.
He agreed. He couldn’t really say no to her. Never could. He
couldn’t understand why not. She was a soldier. A
perfect soldier. Just like her little brother.
Sarris cringed. Her brother. Heero Yuy. He was the
reason she turned on him. His father worked hard to make sure the two of
them were separated. Why did he have to fail in making sure they stayed
separated?
It didn’t matter. He made up for it. Even though he had to use her
in the end, it was made up for.
Sarris.
Sarris.
He heard her voice again. This time, he could hear two different
voices. One had belonged to her, Trinity, the other…he wasn’t sure about.
You hurt me, Sarris.
Us…you hurt us…
“I did nothing of the sort,” he said quietly.
Don’t lie to us, Sarris. Everything has become clear to us.
“What are you?”
We are what you made us.
You caused two souls to exist in the same body.
Two souls that fought to control.
You caused both of us much pain, Sarris.
“Trinity….whatever it is you’re talking about, I did nothing to cause
it.” He closed his eyes as his head began to hurt.
You lie…
Listen to what she says, Sarris. She knows what you did.
“Well, would you mind telling ME WHAT IT WAS THAT I DID!?” He yelled the last
few words.
A few guards came bursting through the door, weapons raised.
Sarris turned to them. “There are intruders in this room. Find
them, and KILL THEM!”
The officers stared at him strangely.
We’re already dead, Sarris.
At least, partly dead.
Besides, they can neither hear us, nor see us.
Only you are cursed with our remains.
“Sir,” said one of them. “We have detected only you in this room. Nothing else. Perhaps you need rest, sir. You’ve
been working very hard.”
“Rest,” whispered Sarris. “Yes. Perhaps you’re right,” he spoke to
the officer. “Thank you. You’re all dismissed.” He walked
into his bedroom in the next room and closed and locked the door. He made
sure the windows were secured and collapsed onto his bed. “Rest…Yes, that’s
what I need.” He closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths. He
was almost asleep in a matter of minutes.
Rest won’t help you, Sarris.
It didn’t help me at all.
You’re about to feel…
…the pain that you put us through.
Until you decide to take responsibility of what was done to us.
Or until you die…whichever comes first…
Sarris’s eyes shot open as he screamed in pain.

Heero stepped into the meeting room and immediately
fell into his spot on the wall, his arms folded. On the opposite wall, Izreina and Kalli were standing,
their arms also folded. In front of them sat their brothers, Duo and Quatre. Across from them, in front of Heero, sat Wufei, who was
mumbling something about women being pilots of Gundams
and how it wasn’t right (go figure), and Trowa, who
was staring at the table, to keep from staring at Kalli.
At the end of the table closest to the door, Milliardo
and Noin sat next to each other. Relena ended up having to keep her son occupied because Marimeiha, who had been deemed the official Preventers babysitter, refused to keep Aaron and Duo Jr. in
the same room together. Hilde, likewise, had to
keep Duo Jr. occupied and away from Relena and Aaron.
Lady Une walked in and stood at the head of the
table, opposite of Noin and Milliardo.
“Although Barton has changed the location of his base, we’re able to track it
using the remains of Tempest’s Gundam. He took
them, I guess, in an attempt to rebuild it. Although, I don’t think he’ll
find a pilot that will be able to handle the ZERO system.” She looked
around the room. “We’ve been able to confirm his location somewhere
within the L2 area. Heero, Izreina,
Kalli, your Gundams are
almost completely repaired. But I don’t want you going out there
yet. Barton thinks you’re dead. We need to keep it that way, at
least for now. Duo, Quatre, Trowa,
and Wufei, you’ll be going in your Gundams to investigate ONLY. Just for now,
anyway. If you have to board the base, do it without your Gundams, keep them out of his observation range.”
Heero frowned, disapprovingly, as did Kalli and Izreina. But Une was right. It was to their advantage right now
that they remained “dead”.
Duo, Quatre, and Trowa
nodded, understanding the orders. Wufei simply
grunted and leaned back in his chair.
Milliardo stared at the table, slightly annoyed that Une hadn’t given him a part in this. Noin looked to him. She had known about his past with
Trinity and she knew how he felt, now especially. She kept quiet.
She couldn’t be a part of this mission because of her pregnancy, and she didn’t
really want Milliardo going in. Hell, she
didn’t want anyone going in, but they had to. And, knowing Milliardo, he’d find a part without the Preventers
if necessary. He owed it to Trinity. She looked back to Une.
Une had seen Milliardo’s
annoyance, and she knew the reason for it, but she wasn’t about to send him
out.
“The exact coordinates of Barton’s base have been downloaded into your Gundams already. You’ll be leaving in 4 hours.
That is all.” She proceeded to leave the room and stopped at Milliardo. She whispered to him. “I have
something for you. Go see Howard and tell him that I sent you.
After you’ve done that, come to my office.” She left the room.
The gundam pilots, boys and girls, left the room.
Noin looked to her husband and raised a brow.
He looked to her. “Don’t ask because I don’t know. But I intend to
find out. I’m going to see Howard.” He stood up and left the
room. Noin proceeded after him.

Heero walked back into Trinity’s room and sat on the
side of the bed. He sat for several minutes, silently. He heard the
door creak open and looked up. Michael walked in. He looked to Heero.
“Nika’s worried about her,” he said, walking over to
the bed after closing the door. “Miss Marimeiha
doesn’t know I’m here. You won’t tell her, will you?”
“No,” said Heero.
Michael walked around to the other side of the bed and sat down on it. He
stared at his mother. “She never mentioned you. She never told us
anything about her past.”
Heero looked to Michael. “Perhaps her past was
better left untold. Just like mine. Besides, you’re both too young
to know the turmoil we went through. No one should know that.”
“I don’t think even Aunt Kalli and Aunt Izreina know.”
“They know all right. But they understand that no one else needs
to. Maybe, when you’re a little older, you’ll know. But right now,
you should enjoy being a kid. Both your mother and I missed that
opportunity. We were never kids.”
Michael looked up to Heero. They stared at each
other for a few minutes. Once again, Heero
thought for a moment that he was staring at Milliardo.
He shook his head.
“You should go before Marimeiha comes looking for
you.”
Michael nodded. “Thanks, Uncle Heero.” He
slid off the bed and slipped out the door, after making sure no one was
looking.
Heero watched him leave. Uncle Heero,
he thought. He smiled briefly before turning back to Trinity.
“Trinity.”
