Yup....another Stormer fic.  Hey, ya gotta wonder what happened to them after Heart of the Storm. *nods*
Still working on the other ones too, finishing them as inspiration comes along.  *nods again*

Disclaimer.  Don't own it.  The Storm, like last time, belongs to me.

Operation: Hurricane

Prologue

Izreina Day-Winner

I walk onto the balcony of the little one's bedroom.  I look out among the beautiful garden of flowers that Quatre insisted be planted.  I sway back and forth, humming a lullaby to our son.  I watch as the last light of the day drifts under the horizon.  I look down to the child in my arms as the outside lamps light up the property.

I see the peaceful babe sleeping in my arms.  It makes me sad.  Quatre hasn't returned from his last mission.  The mission he left on the night after the baby was born.  That was two months ago.

I walk back into the baby's bedroom and set the boy gently into the crib.  I close the doors to the balcony and exit the room, turning off the light and shutting the door as I step into the hallway.

I walk into the bedroom and slide under the covers on the queen size bed.  I sigh heavily at the empty place beside me.  I close my eyes and drift to a restless sleep.  Something's not right.

Kalli Nichole Barton

I look out the window of the small house that Catherine, Trowa and I share.  I look up to the night sky.  The stars, the moon, all visible.  It's so clear.  Clear and calm.  Yet, unnerving at the same time.  There's a stillness in the air that makes my hair stand on end.

I can feel Izreina's thoughts.  Something definitely isn't right.  Trowa and Quatre should have been back a month and a half ago.  It isn’t like them to need so much time on a mission.  Something’s gone wrong.  I can feel it.  I look to Trinity for some sort of sign, but she replies in only silence.

I lay my head back on the pillow and stare at the vacant space beside me.  My eyes remain on the night sky as I begin to drift.  Sleep won’t come easily tonight.

Trinity Yuy

I sit on the railing of the balcony outside of my bedroom in the Peacecraft mansion.  I watch the stars light up the night sky.  The full moon is just above me.  I can't help but have an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach.  The mission that Winner and Barton went on...something has gone wrong.  It shouldn't have taken more than a week.  Here it is, now, two months later.

My thoughts drift to my friend, Izreina.  Her husband and the father of her newborn son is missing.  And Kalli’s husband also.  I wish I could offer them some comfort.   But my duties keep me busy.  Whereas Lightning and Thunder have both resigned from the Preventers, Tempest remains.  As long as I live, the Storm shall not perish.

I know the mission that Barton and Winner were sent on.  I assigned it to them.  I regret that decision, now.  I wish that I had sent more support.  But this was supposed to be a mission for observance only.  I factored in all sorts of mishaps that could have occurred.  Nothing should have gone wrong.  But something must have gone terribly wrong.   They shouldn’t be gone this long.

I shook my head at the data that I had received earlier.  The Storm will have to rise again.
