Here's chapter one.  Not very action-packed, but that's coming later.

Operation: Hurricane

Chapter One

She woke up to the baby crying.  The nanny was already in the bedroom, changing the baby's diaper.  One servant went to prepare a warm bottle.  She looked over to the clock that sat on Quatre's side of the bed.  9:30 am.  She buried her face into her pillow, which was still moist from tears she had cried that night in her sleep.  She felt pain in her dreams.  Quatre's pain.

She had woken up several times during the night, around the same times that the baby woke up wanting a bottle.  But it wasn't the baby that woke her.  Every time she felt a very large sting of pain, it jolted her upright in the bed.  The nanny would tend to the baby while another servant tried to help calm Izreina.

Izreina wondered if the child felt the pain also.  She wondered if that was why the two of them awoke at the same time during the course of the night.  Because the baby wouldn't take more than a fourth of the bottle at a time, meaning he wasn't very hungry.

She would need to ask Trinity about that one.  She was sure that the baby sensed the same pain that she did.  And she was sure it was Quatre.

Trinity? she asked, reaching out for her 'sister'.

Yes, came the reply.  I know why you call.  Firstly, the mission has run into complications.  I've sensed it also, even before I got word.  I'm coming up with a plan now to rectify that situation.  Secondly, I wouldn't doubt that Jason can sense it.  After all, you are telepathic; and, if I'm not mistaken, Quatre is slightly empathic.  There's no doubt your son would have some ability.

Izreina nodded, burying her face even more.  Complications.  By the feel of the pain, it meant that Quatre and Trowa have been captured.  She let a heavy sigh, in an attempt to hold back tears again.

Trin, let me know when you have a plan.

Don't I always?

Izreina nodded again.  Yeah.

Good.  Relax, Iz.  I can handle this.

Trin.... she began.

I know, Iz.  You and Kalli are ready to re-ignite the Storm, should we need to.  Hopefully we won't need to.  You need to take care of Jason.  He's your top priority, now.  Understand?

She nodded.

Now get your sorry ass out of bed and go tend to him.  Give that poor nanny a rest.

Izreina smiled and even laughed a bit.  She took a deep breath and got out of bed.  She slipped on a robe and opened her bedroom door.  She walked down the hallway and stopped in the doorway of the baby's room.  She smiled kindly to the old woman sitting in the rocking chair, rocking as she held the bottle for the two month old boy.

She looked up at Izreina and smiled back.  "How are you feeling this morning, Miss Izreina?" she asked quietly.  The small boy in her arms was beginning to drift back to sleep.

Izreina walked in and kneeled next to the rocking chair, kissing the little boy on the forehead.  His eyes opened briefly to look up at his mother.  He gave a small sigh and closed his eyes again as he continued to suck on the bottle.

She smiled back up to the woman.  "Better after speaking with Trinity."

The old woman was about to make a comment before she nodded.  She'd completely forgot about the three of them being able to communicate with each other through their minds.  She continued rocking the baby.

Izreina smiled as she stood back up.  "May I?" she asked, extending her arms out to the baby.

The old woman nodded as she removed the empty bottle from the baby's mouth.  "By all means, you're his mother.  Goodness, you shouldn't have to ask permission to hold your own son."  She was careful not to disturb him too much as they transferred him from her arms to his mother's arms.  After the child was safely in his mother's arms, the old woman stood up, so that Izreina could continue to rock him.

Izreina sat in the rocking chair and looked up at the old woman.  "Emily, I want to thank you for all your help this past month.  I don't know what I would have done had you not been here for Jason."

The old woman smiled.  "I raised Master Quatre, Miss Izreina.  It gives me great joy that I'm still alive to help raise his little one."  She went around the room picking various discarded items off the floor.  She placed them in their proper places.

Izreina smiled as she rocked her son.  "Emily, let me handle things in here today.  You need a rest.  You deserve one."

The old woman placed the last of the items in its place and nodded.  "Thank you, Miss Izreina.  You know where to find me if you have any trouble."

Izreina nodded.  "Of course."

Kalli woke up to the same pain that morning, except two-fold.  She opened her eyes and squinted at the morning sun that shown through her bedroom window.  She sat up, hearing Catherine in the back yard, practicing.  She yawned and laid her head back on the pillow.  She stared at the light fixture on the ceiling for several minutes, analyzing the scenes that were going through her mind.

Her husband and brother were in danger.  She felt it, even stronger than Izreina had.  She rubbed her eyes as she thought.  Trinity hadn't told them anything about their husbands' mission.  Logical thinking since neither Izreina nor Kalli were active Preventers.  But still, not knowing where Trowa and Quatre were was frightening to Kalli.

She had monitored the telepathic conversation between Trinity and Izreina, so she knew it was confirmed that something went wrong with their mission.  Kalli knew Trinity, very well, so she would come up with a plan swiftly.

Kalli pulled herself out of the bed and walked into the bathroom.  She looked at her reflection in the mirror and sighed.  She shook her head and turned on the shower.  The thoughts still raced through her head as she undressed and stepped into the warm shower.  She let the water beat down on her for several minutes before reaching for the body wash.

She opened the top and turned it over to squeeze some of the liquid into her hand.  Nothing happened.  She raised a brow and shook the bottle. It was empty.  She muttered a silent curse and stuck her head out of the shower curtain.

"CATHY!" she screamed at the top of her lungs.

There was an immediate automatic response as she heard the back door slam shut.  In a matter of seconds, the Catherine poked her head in the bathroom door.  Kalli stared coolly at the red head and held out the empty bottle.  She didn't say a word, just held out the bottle.

Catherine gave a small nervous smile and shuffled her feet across the tile floor as she completely stepped into the bathroom.  She looked down to her feet then looked back up to Kalli.  "Sorry, I was out, and I didn't really have the time to go to the store...." she started before trailing off.

Kalli shook her head as she tossed the bottle into a garbage can that sat next to the sink.  She sighed and pulled her head back into the shower.  After simply letting the water hit her in the face for a few minutes, she turned off the water and wrapped a dry towel around her figure.  She pulled the shower curtain back and saw that Catherine was still standing in the doorway.  She sighed again as she stepped out of the tub.

"I'm sorry, Cathy.  It's just that..." she wondered what excuse she might be able to give to rectify her behavior.  "I'm not used to living with another girl in the house and...."

"It's okay, Kalli," she replied.  "I understand that you're a little on edge right now."  She took a deep breath.  "You get used to him being gone every now and then."

She nodded, understanding where Catherine was coming from.  "It's not him being gone that worries me, Cathy."

Catherine raised her eyes to look at Kalli, then nodded.  "Oh, I forgot...  I'm sorry."

Kalli nodded.  "It's alright."  She walked past Catherine into her and Trowa's bedroom.  She looked into the closet and pulled out a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.  She laid them on the bed as she walked back into the bathroom.

Trinity raised a brow as she looked up from her computer, seeing Heero standing in front of her desk.  She sat back in her chair and folded her hands together, laying them on top of her stomach.

"Say that again?" she asked, staring him in the eye.

"Maxwell and I checked out the location of their last transmission.  There was nothing there.  None of their equipment, not a thing.  It looked as if no one had been there to begin with."

"Whoever these people are, they're very thorough," said Lady Une as she walked into Trinity's office.

Trinity nodded at Une and looked back to her computer.  "Even I don't know much of anything about them."  She thought for a moment as she scanned through some of the data on her computer.  She looked back to Une.  "I -do- have a possible location, though."

Une nodded and Trinity looked back to Heero.  "You and Maxwell are going here to investigate." She made a quick copy of the data and handed Heero the disk.  "Should you find that Winner and Barton are here, go in and get them.  Should you need backup, Chang and Po won't be too far behind you."

Heero nodded as he took the disk.  He saluted to both Trinity and Une before walking out the door.  Une closed the door behind him and walked up to Trinity's desk.

"I know what you're going to say, Une.  And I don't want to get them involved unless we have absolutely no other choice."  Trinity looked up at Une.  "I hated to send Winner and Barton in the first place, but they were the best ones for the job, I thought."

She sat back in her chair as Une nodded.  "Just keep that option open.  We don't know what we're dealing with here.  I'd rather have the best people on top of it."

Trinity looked blankly at her computer screen.

"Tempest," Une said.  She rarely used that name, nowadays.  "Two things.  Number one, you said this one yourself.  Once a Stormer, always a Stormer.  Secondly, do you really think Lightning and Thunder are going to sit by and watch?"

Trinity looked back to Une and stared at her a good long while.  She nodded.  "You're right.  But I'd still like to keep them as a last resort."

Une nodded.  "Your judgment is best."  She made her way to the door and stopped as she laid a hand on the doorknob.  "Oh," she added, turning to face Trinity, "Michael left a message for you.  He said his team won seven to three."

Trinity smiled.  "I'm glad Zechs decided to do this with him.  I think he's having just as much fun as Michael."

Une nodded.  "So it seems."  She opened the door and stepped out of the office.

Trinity frowned as she looked back to her computer screen once more.  She shook her head.  The Storm was a last resort.  Very last.

I swear...if the three of us have to intervene....there will be hell to pay.
