This poetry page has a theme of sorts- In need of a friend, worried of human kind's future due to the neglect of our beautiful planet and a loss of hope. And accompanied by Enya's music in the background-"on my way home..."

Friends

I need a friend, to show me the way,

Always forever, and for today.

To help me find the strength and will to survive,

I need a push, to feel Im alive.

Yesterday's gone, tomorrow is near,

I strive for the power, to wipe away this tear.

I'll lend my hand in return for yours,

And together we'll find and open doors.

We will travel hand in hand, throughout this big lonely land,

Pushing each other to do our best,

And forgetting about all the rest.

Life, after all isn't all as it seems,

But together as friends, we can share our dreams.

New World
Things are changing
The Earth is preparing
With mankind ignoring
As the New World is birthing.

In this New World
Humankind will be a mystery

Beneath the new waters
So deep and so cold
Many interesting things will be found
And new stories will be told.

Of a strange race of creatures
Who were once so bold
To disrespect Mother Earth
And leave Her barren and cold.

 In this New World
Humankind will be history.

Hope

Lend me your hope for a while,
I seemed to have mislaid mine.

Lost and hopeless feelings accompany me daily.
Pain and confusion are my companions.
I know not where to turn.
   Looking forward to future times
Does not bring forth images of renewed hope.
I see difficult times, pain-filled days,
   And more tragedy.

Lend me your hope for a while,
I seemed to have mislaid mine.

Hold my hand and hug me,
   Listen to all my rambling.
I need to unleash the pain and let it pour out.
   Recovery seems so far distant,
The road to healing, a long and lonely one.

Stand by me. Offer me your presence,
   Your ears and your love.
Acknowledge my pain, it is so real and ever present.
I am overwhelmed with sad and conflicting thoughts.

Lend me your hope for a while.
The time will come when I will heal,
And I will lend my renewed hope to others.
   And return yours to you.
