The History of International Youth Council

International Youth Council was founded in May 1998 by Ron Kaplan, as an organization to prevent teens from suicide and drunk driving. It was called People Against Destructive Decisions. It provided teens with resources and information about mental disorders and drunk driving.

The name of our organization; International Youth Council, was thought up by 3 reasons:

1. We are an International organization that provides information to millions of teens worldwide.

2. We are dedicated to Youth around the world. Most of our information pertains to youth and is related to youth issues.

3. We have a Council of teens representing many different communities and diverse backgrounds.

We are dedicated to the well-being of teens across the world, and have high aspirations for our future.
