You can adoptADuckling() in just 8 easy steps!(Only applies if you live near driving distance of a large body of water). This may not work if it is not duckling season. Read on:

1. Make sure you have a basket and a pair of heavy gloves.
2. Go down to your nearest large body of water.
3. Find a mother duck with lots of ducklings. Put on your gloves.
4. Chase the mother away from her ducklings; make sure you don't scare them into the water or you will have to start over from Step 1.
5. Catch one of the ducklings. If the mother tries to bite you, don't panic; this is perfectly normal. This is also why you have the heavy gloves.
6. Place duckling in the basket. Don't let it jump out.
7. Go home and enjoy your new pet! Remember to name it, feed it, give it water and play with it. Try not to have roast duckling for dinner. Rather, wait for about 6 months until it grows up.
8. For best results, catch two ducklings to keep each other company.
