left-libertarian education workers' gathering - manchester, 1st july
get yourself booked in soon, before places go!
a loose network of radical education workers that was launched at the anarchist bookfair in october 2006 has announed that they will be having a conference in manchester on sunday july 1st. this network was a joint effort between members of Anarchist Federation, Solidarity Federation and the IWW and numerous unattached individuals to build a unified anti-authoritarian and anti-capitalist presence in the education sector.

The largest industrial union in the IWW is IU 620 Education Workers Industrial Union, which has been growing apace in recent months on the back of struggles and organising in Dumfries, Glasgow and Leicester in particular. this conference will be a great opportunity to network with other groups and individuals, and work towards greater co-operation and co-ordination around the UK.

The conference has been spearheaded by Manchester AF (whom we thank greatly for all their effort!) and will be held at Mill Street Venture Centre, 491 Mill Street, Openshaw, Manchester, M11 2AD.

There will be a meet-and-greet with coffee etc from 10am and the conference will begin at 11am. we plan to finish at around 5pm.

Those planning to stay the saturday night may be put up for free, but spaces are being taken up fast.

If you would like to participate, please email [email protected] stating whether you require accommodation. There are only around 30-40 places available, so get your skates on!
