In the Gospel of John, first verse, it says: "In the beginning was the Word of God and the Word was with God and the Word was God." To know the character of Jesus, and what we are to do like him, you have to know the Word. Jesus is the Word of God which became flesh. We are to imitate Jesus (God's Word), and do what the Word says Jesus did.
Judging people for their sins is NOT the job of the Church! The Church is to bless, love, heal, and deliver the lost by the anointing of God on us! If we don't have this power, then we are NOT where we are supposed to be and we are teaching false doctrine and NOT doing our job. The result is a broken, crippled church with NO POWER to do the WILL of GOD.
A person can be saved by coming to Jesus 'as they are'. A person can STAY a Christian by standing on the promises in God's Word and by fellow-Christians doing the promises for each other's benefit. We need to help each other.
I am NOT teaching that sin in any form is acceptable before God -- but that Jesus came to deliver believers from sin. Only He (Jesus) can do it! Just like homosexuals need deliverance, so do heterosexuals need deliverance from LUST and from Fornication outside of marraige.
Cleptomaniacs need deliverance from stealing. People who commit incest and pediofiles need deliverance. People who dabble in witchcraft and the occult need deliverance ...etc. Even some diseases involve deliverance before a person can be set free and totally healed. Jesus spoke about judging your brother and said 'before we cast the splinter out of our brother's eye, to first dig the mote (or log) out of our own eyes so we can see clearly to help deliver our brother.
Jesus also said, 'whether we speak with the tongues of angels, prophecy, heal the sick, deliver the captives or raise the dead, if we have NOT love, it has all been for nothing."
Love of 'all' men should come first before all the gifts of the Holy Ghost. Without love and without faith, it IS impossible to please God!
The first two commandments are these:
1) Love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart and thy whole soul and put NOT strange Gods before Him. And the second,
2) Love thy brother as you love yourself. If you keep these two commandments, you will be keeping them all"!
Jesus said NOT to just tell people to be filled (with the Word) and send them away; but, we are to provide for thier needs FIRST, whether it be healing, deliverance, money, food, etc, then after we provide their need, fill them with God's word and His spirit!
