More News and Notes
First off, we recently conducted our second Win 6 Months of IWF Free Contest. We want to congratulate the lucky winner, Joshua Lovejoy of Maryland. Josh is currently in USW and gets the match deal for free for 6 months; a $60 value! All new managers from this cycle on will be eligible for the next drawing in a few months. Moving along, it is not too late to sign matches for the second annual IWF-Wide Anniversary Pay-Per-View event. It is $2 per match due to this event bring a special big write-up and you can sign your men against any wrestlers throughout the entire IWF. Simply send in with your league or in a separate envelope and mark it C/O Anniversary PPV. You have until the end of cycle #22 to submit matches and the cards line-up will be announced in either IWF Monthly #23 or 24. The actual event will take place in the August cycle, using Cycle #24s hold values. The King of the IWF Tournament Final will take place at the Anniversary PPV, as well. After the PPV, we will be holding a huge IWF-Wide Stable Wars competition. No doubt your stable will want to win this thing for bragging rights alone! We regret to announce that HIW was closed this month due to lack of activity. Meanwhile, any manager that is active in HBW Bulletin #22 this month, gets 10 free matches in there with a minimum $3 purchase. Were trying to improve HBW to the level STW is at right now and hopefully this will entice managers to come check out the HBW. In what we feel is a novel idea, were going to now introduce to you The Ratings Share. First off, what do we mean by this? Well, as you all know, in the Monday Night Ratings War in real wrestling, both the WWF and WCW gets ratings shares which determines how well each program is doing. Now the IWF brings to you The Ratings Share which will serve as a measure for how well each respective league is doing. The formula for figuring out The Ratings Share of a league is as follows: # of Cards divided by 10. So for instance, STW had 51 cards this cycle. It would therefore receive a strong rating of 5.1 (51 divided by 10). In the future, we will announce rating shares of each league in the IWF Report, and will reward the league with the best rating (activity) in some capacity. It seems clear that the Tough Guy division is on fire right now, specifically STW, while the Continental division could use a bit more activity and excitement. With that said, we are very close to implementing a Free Match Jackpot offer. For example, if we offered, say, 20 freebies for winning the league title in one of the Continental leagues (perhaps MLW), this could improve activity greatly. We could spread the jackpot concept across the Continental as follows:
MLW- 20 freebies for Heavyweight
CPW- 10 freebies for Tag
USW- 10 freebies for Six
Something like this might be a possibility. We could alternate which league gets which jackpot every month, as well, so the jackpot rotates. Also, it would be required that you use the free matches in the specified league, so that you help to improve the activity and angles in that league. We also want to ask our managers the following question. Do you think the IWF should move to a 3 week cycle or stay with the current 4 week cycle? There are pros and cons for each but ultimately what you guys want here is what you are going to get. Also, would you like to see an IWF-Wide PPV more than once a year? Please let us know what you think of the aforementioned proposals by either sending us a note/letter with your matches or sending in separately. Your feedback is essential to the direction that the game goes in! Finally, if youre on the net, feel free to check out these two new IWF Sites filled with everything from news and rumors to message boards where you can converse with fellow IWF managers: http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Midfield/1161/no
