Chapter Sixty

That wasnt quite what I expected. Aaron smiled as he helped Jess mom over to the bed.

Do you want a drink? Jess asked sitting on the bed next to her mother.

Ill be okay dear. I didnt mean to faint.

Most people usually dont. Aaron teased.

So how, when?

Last night.

He was on bended knee and everything, Jess gushed.

Nobody even noticed the ring when we came back in.

Am I the first to know?

Basically yes, though Dad is expecting it.

Aaron, hes been expecting it for a long time know.

I know but I asked again yesterday afternoon. Aaron grinned at Jess, Just to make sure.

Im so happy for you guys Jess let me see that ring again.

As she showed her mom, the ring, Jess got her first good look at the ring on her finger. The gorgeous blue diamond was at least 4 karats and was surrounded by a heart of tiny white diamonds set in the white gold of the ring. Its so gorgeous. Jess breathed.

Oh Aaron, thats amazing.

Designed it myself, Aaron smiled and knelt down in front of Jess. I always thought you looked better in the white gold than regular.

Thank you sweetie. Jess gently kissed him.

So do you guys want breakfast? Mom suddenly stood up.

Sure, they answered in unison.

Ill make French toast and bacon. You like that right, Aaron?

Yes maam. Aaron helped Jess to her feet and wrapped his arms around her from behind.

Thank you Mommy, Jess giggled as her mother left the room.

I love you Jessie.

I love you too Carter. Jess kissed him and they walked together to the kitchen to eat breakfast.
