Eddie: Is this airing? Are we still broadcasting?
Rick: Just cut the feed, damnit! How hard can that be??
(Suddenly the lights flicker and dim.)
Rick: What's going on here?
Eddie: Budget cuts, maybe?
Rick: Wait! Maybe this has to do with that "???" man that's been around lately!
Eddie: Could it be?
(The opening chords for Sister Awake by the Tea Party begin to echo throughout the arena. Its uplifting 12-string melody catches the announcers off guard.)
Rick: What the?
Eddie: Look at that.
(A dense layer of pink mist slowly fills the entranceway. We can see motion stirring from within. The crowd is in dead silence. A world apart from only minutes ago.)
Rick: I dont know what to think here.
(Suddenly out from the mist there appears a woman.)
Eddie: Hey... I like where this is going.
(As if from a dream the womans enchanting beauty draws the camera towards her. She is dressed in a traditional belly dancers outfit. On her feet she wears elegant red Harem slippers, covered in decedent sequins. A thin layer of pink silk hangs down from her waist. Acting like a transparent skirt, her smooth supple legs gently peak out from underneath. As the camera draws near we can see the tiniest goose bumps forming across the firm skin of her exposed stomach.)
Eddie: Yea, I do like where this is going.
(Gracefully she moves from the mist. We are able to fully take in her appearance. A pink top covers the soft flesh of her bosom and just a few simple straps that attach to a collar lead our eyes to her face. Her lips are painted a deep shade of red. They glisten as the stage lights shine in her direction. Dark smoldering eyes - the kind that are often described, yet never quite captured with words. Her face is white, creamy, and yet full of life. Truly the face of an angel.)
Eddie: I think I need to be alone.
Rick: I think I need answers.
(As the lyrics to the song start she gently begins to perform a traditional dance in time with the songs rich tempo. Her deep black hair sways, almost drawing our eyes from her midsection, but never quite able to steal the spotlight.)
(Suddenly another figure appears. Another woman. She is dressed in similar attire. However if it is possible She is even more radiant. She too begins to dance down the ramp.)
(More figures appear, more beautiful women. Each one more enchanting then the last.)
Eddie: I was wrong. I do not want to be alone. I want to be over there.
(Finally the last girl appears. In total there are 6 of them. As they make their way down the ramp each one stops in a certain place. 3 down and 2 across, creating a path down the middle.)
Eddie: Rick... can you get their numbers for me?
Rick: What??
(Suddenly the tempo of the song changes. The lighthearted guitar strumming becomes frantic. The sound of a sitar is introduced along with intense, East Indian drums. The girls begin a frantic dance along with the music as the lights flash in time with the beat.)
Rick: This is taking a strange twist.
(Almost unseen is the fact that the mist has gradually changed color. No longer the bight pink, it has now become a dark shade of gray.)
Eddie: They are getting all sweaty I bet.
(Then as quickly as the song picked up it changes once more and the girls collapse in a heap as a gong sounds.)
Rick: Its like they are in some sort of trance.
Eddie: Holy crap. Look!
(The song no longer retains its pleasant nature. It now contains a dark underscore, one with ominous tones. However we let the music fade into the background because at the top of the ramp, emerging from the mist, are two large figures wearing long dark cloaks. Hoods cover their faces. They are definitely not belly dancers. The two figures slowly move from the mist down the ramp.)
Eddie: Why am I getting a sick feeling in my stomach?
Rick: I have the same feeling.
(The two figures stop at the first woman on the ramp. She is kneeling at the feet of this large person. Unexpectedly the figure produces a rose from his cloak. A black rose. He gently reaches out and strokes her face with it. She gently lifts her head up.)
Eddie: I think Im going to be sick.
(Her eyes are sewn shut.)
Rick: That Is disturbing. My gawd!
(She delicately removes the rose from his hand as a single tear of blood trickles down her cheek.)
Eddie:
(While on the other side of the ramp the other being does the same and produces a similar result.)
(The two men make their way to the next two women on the ramp. Once more they remove roses from their robes. Once more they stroke the cheek of the women in front of them. This time however it produces a different effect.)
Rick: Dear god
Eddie: It looks like their ears have been ripped from their head!
(In fact the two women now posses rather large scars where their ears once were. As the women before them, they obtain the rose and the figures move on.)
Rick: I dont think I want to see this.
(They reach the final two women, take out the roses and caress their cheeks. The women look up.)
Eddie: Wait a second
(They have their mouths sewn shut.)
Eddie: If she had bigger boobs shed be the perfect woman.
Rick: EDDIE!
(As the figures head towards the ring the women begin their dancing once more. The smaller of the two figures slowly walks up the stairs and enters the ring. He then turns back the ramp as the mist engulfs the young women.)
(Then suddenly the mist dissipates. The girls are nowhere to be seen. As the song finishes we turn our attention to the ring.)
Rick: What is going on here?
(The larger of the two men approaches the announce table. He picks up a microphone and hands it to the figure inside the ring. He then walks back to the announce table and stands directly behind Eddie.)
Rick: Who is it?
Eddie: I am not turning around. If it is who I think it is then I hope he just goes away.
(The figure in the ring raises the mic.)
(Pause)
Figure: Les gens de l'IWA... Je suis retourn
(The deepness of his voice almost seems to shake the foundation of the arena.)
Figure: People of the IWA I have returned
(Dead silence)
Figure: Ne voir l'aucun mal... N'entendre aucun mauvais... Ne parler aucun mauvais...
(Pause)
Figure: See no evil.. Hear no evil... Speak no evil...
(The figure pauses once more. Then slowly kneels to the ground.)
Figure: It is only fitting that I return here dans la belle province du Qubec For it was here. Right here
(He begins to slowly stroke the mat.)
Figure: August 28 almost 4 years ago K-Dogg
(Another pause. The figure slowly begins to stand. He looks around the ring once more. )
Figure: October 31 one year later Right here A man I looked at as a brother revealed his true colors
(The figure slowly begins to stroll across the mat.)
Figure: Do any of you people know the last time the IWA held a major event in Quebec? I do You will not find it in any of the archives
(He stops.)
Figure: However before I get too far ahead allow me to introduce myself just in case you havent figured it out already
(The man slowly reaches up and begins to pull back on the hood covering his face.)
Figure: Those of you who know who I am know to be terrified Those of you who do not know who I am will learn to
(The hood is finally pulled back to expose a hideously disfigured face.)
Rick: oh god.
(The man slowly turns to face the camera and the lights from the arena reflect off his solid black eyes.)
Figure: I am death I am bereavement I am Utuk Xul
(An immoral grin slowly begins to crawl across his lips.)
Figure: You may also call me Venom
Rick: I.. I..
Eddie: .....
Venom: Getting back to the topic at hand May 22 2000 The last time the IWA graced this province with its presence
(He looks towards the ramp as the smile begins to fade.)
Venom: Vincent You know that date
(Venom turns to the large figure standing behind the announcers.)
Venom: He knows that date Do you not brother?
(The large man slowly pulls off his hood to reveal a black leather S&M style mask. The Face of the WidowMaker.)
Venom: It was on that date My brother achieved his highest aspiration It was on that date he won the NeWA world title
(Venom turns back to the ramp.)
Venom: Right here in Montreal
(He runs his tongue along his lips.)
Venom: However The people never got to see that match did they Vincent? Do you know why? I do
Rick: What is he talking about?
Venom: The people never saw that match Because you Vincent You did not allow them to You betrayed him
(A scowl begins to form.)
Venom: After everything the Dead Souls did for you and your company After all that I did for you you betrayed him You betrayed me
Rick: Thats not fair! Mike Vincent wasnt even in charge at that time
(The WidowMaker places his hand on Ricks shoulder.)
Rick:
Venom: However Vincent That would not be the last time your lies would be spread across the NeWA
(He begins to rubs his bald head menacingly.)
Venom: You know something The last time I set foot in an IWA ring it was enclosed in flame February 17 2000
Eddie: I remember that day. Winter Meltdown.
Rick: We'll never forget it. Or this day.
Venom: I do not need to go into details you all can look it up if you have to I am more concerned with what happened the next day do you remember that Vincent?
(Pause)
Venom: That was the day that you told the world a lie
(Pause)
Venom: That was the day you told the NeWA Februarys Pay Per View would forever be known as Dead Souls
(One more pause.)
Venom: It has been 2 years now Vincent I have seen no event with that name In fact I have seen no monument to our past at all Pity you know what they say about the past It always comes back to haunt you
(Venom turns back to the crowd.)
Venom: However I now find out that Vincent is currently unavailable
(He looks into the nearest camera.)
Venom: thanks to an old friend Boog I look forward to seeing you again
(The smile comes back to his face.)
Venom: No matter I do not need Vincent to be here while I make the IWA suffer
(The smile disappears.)
Venom: After all While the cat is away Venom Shall play
(He motions to his brother and WidowMaker moves towards the ring.)
Venom: As a matter of fact This has gone on long enough
(He looks towards the big screen.)
Venom: Steven
(Suddenly the picture on the screen switches to the back area. A man wearing clown makeup and pajama bottoms is crouching by a set of large electrical wires.)
Venom: Steven Shut it down Shut it all down
(The man in the makeup smirks as he strokes the wires. Venom turns back to the cameras.)
Venom: Vincent I will bathe in your blood
(Steven lifts a large axe.)
Venom: I will own your soul
(The picture dies. The IWA is off the air.)
