Matt: *tossed his backpack on the floor* I'm home dad!
(Looks around the room)
Matt: *shrug* Guess he's still at work. *Walks over to the fridge and opens the door*
Sushi rolls again?? And why am I talking to myself. *sigh* Those exams are really getting to me.
(Phone rings)
Matt: *Picks up the phone* Hello?
Mr. Ishida: Hello? Matt? I'm still at work, sorry but I'll be home late.
Matt: No prob.
Mr. Ishida: But your mother is coming over with TK.
Matt: *Neck stiffens* Oh, ok dad.
Mr. Ishida: I'm going back to work now, but I'll be back by 11 tonight.
Matt: Alright. Bye. *hangs up the phone and walks over to the couch* So mom's coming...
*flops onto the couch* Big deal. *Turns on TV*
News reporter: The government in the Odiba area are announcing a new law. Parents are now
offically allowed to set up their childrens marriges at their childs age as low as 16.
Matt: *Sits up* What!?! Odiba area? That's here!
(Doorbell rings)
Matt: *jumps a litte* AH! Oh, stupid doorbell. *Walks to the door and opens it*
Nancy: Matt!! How are you?
Matt: *Surprised* Oh. Uh, fine.
TK: Hey Matt! Long time no see!
Matt: Ya well, come in.
(15 mins later in Matt's room)
TK: A mess as usual.
Matt: You're not here to critiqe my room TK!
TK: Ya well, I have something to tell you.
Matt: *Putting sock in drawer* I'm listening.
TK: Did you hear that the government is enforcing a new law?
Matt: Ya, so, what about it?
TK: Well mom thought it was a goo-
(Nancy opens the door)
Nancy: Sorry to barge in on you two but Matt, I have to speak with you.
Matt: ...?
TK: I'll just escort myself to a can of soda. Cya. *Quickly shuffles out the door*
Nancy: *Looks back at Matt excitedly* Guess what?
Matt: *Bluntly* What.
Nancy: Yesterday, I was out at the supermarket and bumped into an old friend! She has a
beautiful daughter that's slightly older than you but she's very sweet.
Matt: *Shrug* So?
Nancy: Well I've met her daughter that afternoon and she's quite the, ...... unique girl.
And since they just enforced the new law, I'm so excited to say that you will be engaged to
her next week!!
Matt: *Disbelief* WHAT!?!?!
Nancy: I'm so excited! Here's her phone number if you ever want to chat with her. *Hands
Matt a paper* Belive it or not but she's a big fan of yours!
Matt: Fan? Oh you mean our band.
Nancy: Yes Matt. Just one more thing! *Fiddling with pockets* Oh here. *Hands Matt a red
squarish case* It's the engagement ring!
Matt: *Frustrated* What? What? What? This is happening so fast!
Nancy: *Glances at the clock* Oh my gosh! I'm late! Tk's supposed to be at Kari's house for
a gathering with Davis in 5 minutes! *Kisses Matts head* By sweetie! *Runs out of Matts room
slaming the door shut*
Matt: *Stands in the middle of his bedroom, blinking, staring at the door and mumbling incoherently.*
Wha- wha- wha??

(Later on that day, Matt is on the phone with Tai)
Matt: Ya so now I have a fiance that I've never met in my life!
Tai: Whoa, that's way outta whack! I can't believe it's happening all over town! But I'm
happy, my fiance is Sora so....
Matt: *Sigh* Well I have to go in a few minutes, I want to talk to this girl to get to know her.
There's no stopping my mom.
Tai: Ya well, look on the bright side, can't you get a divorce?
Matt: True but I have a reputation to protect.
Tai: True.. Oh wait, there's someone on the other line.
Matt: Ok.
(There's a click, then silence)
Matt: *whistles the tune to "I Turn Around"*
(These's a click)
Tai: Hello?
Matt: Hey. So who was it?
Tai: It was Sora, she wanted to go out later on. I told her about your engagement.
Matt: You did?
Tai: Ya, now she's contacting everyone to see if anyone has a solution to yuor problem.
Matt: WHAT!?!? I didn't want to make it bigger than it already is!
Tai: Whoops, sorry. But Sora's probably contacted like half of them by now.
Matt: NO! Sorry Tai, I gotta call Sora. Bye!
Tai: Bu- *Click*
Matt: *Thinking* Arg! *Dials Sora's phone number*
(Busy signal)
Matt: Damn!
(Sits on the couch for about 2 minutes)
Matt: I don't want to call Tai back, and Sora's probably got to everyone by now. *Looks on
the table at a strip of paper* Well, better now then never. *Walks over to the phone*
(Dials number)
Matt: 2,6,6. *Trying to make out the writing* Man, mom needs writing lessons! ... 2, 6, 6, 2, 2, 6, 6.
(Phone rings couple of times)
Girl: *Valley girl voice* He-lloo??
Matt: *Clears throat* Uh, hi. I'm Yamato Ishida and my mom is Nancy. Uh, she told me to call.
Girl: *Shuffling noise and speaks in a perky voice* Oh hi! It's you!! *SHRIEK!* It's about time!
Matt: *Holds phone away from ears during the shriek* Uh, ya. Um, are you by any chance, the girl
I'm engaged to?
Girl: *Vallery girl voice* Like definately! I mean, do you hear any other pretty girls on the phone?
Matt: *Sweatdrop* Um..
Girl: Let's meet!
Matt: *Stammering* N- now!?!?!
Girl: Ya why not?? You're not a little baby are you, I wanna see if you're as cute as your mom says!
Matt: *Cough* Um well, I'm kinda bus-
Girl: Great! I'll meet you by the big tree in Odiba park!! If you don't show up, I'll be
forced to go to your house. Your mom left me your addy.
Matt: *Groans* Oh man! *Into the phone* Ya, well, I'll see you there in half an hour.
Girl: OK! *Hangs up*
Matt: Oh man!

(Switches scene to Sora)
Sora: So he's going to be engaged to a girl he doesn't even know!
Mimi: Sora, you've changed, you never used to gossip.
Sora: Oh, well, I guess the new law is making me excited.
Mimi: I guess.
Sora: So who's your fiance?
Mimi: No one yet, my mom and dad wants me to find the right guy by the end of this week tho.
Sora: Wow, that's harsh. Do you know who you want?
Mimi: *Silence*

Mimi: Ya, I have an idea but I don't know if he likes me. I mean, I could mary him like that

like anyone there. If you don't, it's still refreshing walk.

(Matt standing under the tree in Odiba Park)
Matt: *Sigh* She's late.
(A girl runs up to Matt)
Girl: Hi there, do you have the time? I've asked everyone! No one wears a watch these days!
Matt: *Looks at watch* It's 25 to.
Girl: Thx! *Runs past Matt*
Matt: *Thinking* Where is she? *Takes out the strip of paper* I hope I called the right person.
(Wind blows paper out of Matt's hand)
Matt: Hey! *Chases after paper and bumps into the girl that he met before* Uh sorry.
Girl: Looking for this? *Hands Matt the slip of paper*
Matt: *Takes it* Ya sorry. I kinda need it. I'm waiting for someone.
Girl: Hey, your voice sounds familiar. Are you Yamato Ishida?
Matt: Ya, that's right. How'd you know??
Girl: *Grab's Matt's hand and shakes it* Hi, I'm your fiance, Jun Motomiya.

(Intermission) AHHHHHHH!!!!! I know what you're thinking. Ew, ew, ew. Right? Now before
you e-mail me with flames, don't worry. Matt WILL be saved. >_<; Even I can't bear to see
Matt engaged to Jun. GROSS!
(Resume)

Matt: *Stammers in disbelief* Y-y-you're my f-f-iance??
Jun: *Beams* Yup and your biggest fan too!
Matt: *Stammers yet once again* Y-y-you're m-my f-fianc-c-ce?
Jun: *Bobs head to the side* Speechless at my beauty?
(Someone calls Matt's name)
Someone: MATT!!
Matt: *Staring at Jun pointing a finger at her and gapping*

Matt: *Faints and falls right into Mimi's arms*

Sora: He's out cold.
Mimi: *Glares at Jun* Who are you?
Jun: Matt's fiance.

Mimi: Ya, we better get Matt something cold.
Sora: Um, here. *Pulls out a while cloth from her gym bag*

Mimi: Whatever! Just take the cloth and soak it in some cold water.

Sora: No problem! *Runs off*

head on her lap*

Sora: Hey Mimi! *Runs up to Mimi* Here's the wet cloth.
Mimi: Thanks! *Walks over to Matt and shoves Jun over*
Jun: Hey!
Mimi: *Places wet cloth on Matt's head*
Matt: *Comes to* Rrrrmm... *Opens eyes* Mimi!
Jun: *Pushes Mimi out of the way*
Mimi: *Hits tree* Ow!
Matt: AH! MIMI! *Gets up and tries to go to Mimi but Jun grabs his hand*
Jun: Matt! You're not feeling well!
Matt: *Looks at Jun and shudders* Ugh.. Let go of me! *Brushes her hand away swiftly and
runs to Mimi* Are you ok?
Mimi: I'm ok. *Gets up* I gotta go.
Matt: *Looks at Mimi's scraped arm* But your arm-
Sora: I'll take you home Mimi.
Mimi: *Nods*
Jun: Great! Now me and Matt can spend some time alone together.
Matt: *Gags and looks at Mimi with pleading eyes*
Mimi: *Looks at Matt and thinks* Should I just leave? NO! I have to help him. *Looks at Jun*
Well actually, Matt and Sora and I have to, um, work on this project for school. It's due tomorrow
and we didn't even start yet. So...
Jun: *Looks disappointed* Oh, well ok. *Perks up* Wait, I can help!! After all, I'm a year
old than you guys, I can probably help! What's your address?
Matt: *Starting to look panicky*
Sora: Well actually, they're using a new ciriculum so that means, the things we're doing in school
are things you haven't done before. So that means you can't really help. *Whispers to Mimi* We
better get out of here quick before she gets any more ideas.
Mimi: Good point. *To Jun* Well bye! *Grabs Matt's hand and the three of them walks away quickly*

(30 minutes later at the Tachikawa residence)
Sora: I can't believe she's your fiance.
Matt: *Shakes head* Neither can I.
Mimi: Hmmmm.... (lightbulb) Hey!! I have an idea! Why don't you ask your parents if you can marry
someone of your choice?? My mom and dad let me, yours should too! After all, if it helps, my mom can
convince ANYONE!
Matt: You know what? That's actaully a good idea!! *Thinks then flops onto Mimi's bed* Then again
my dad would never be the softie my mom is.
Sora: Then we'll target your mom. After all, it was her idea not your dads.
Matt: True.
Mimi: *Stands up* Then it's settled! We'll call your mom first thing in the morning.
Matt: Why not now??
Mimi: Well that's because you have to sleep over. Make them aware that you're serious about it.
You know, be assertive. Right Sora?
Sora: Well, I don't know...
Mimi: Come on, don't be a party pooper. How about this, you can sleep over too! I'm sure my mom wouldn't mind!
Sora: Well... alright. But only this on- *Hugged by Mimi*

Matt: *Sweatdrop*

(Dinner at the Tachikawa residence)
Mimi: So you see mom, it's a very difficult situation.
Mrs. Tachikawa: Alright sweetie. I'll see what I can do.
Mimi: Thanks mom! You're the best.
Matt: Yes, thank you Mrs. Tachikawa.
Sora: And dinner was delicious.
Mr. Tachikawa: My litle dumpling, knows all the best take-out shops in town!
Mrs. Tachikawa: Aww.. you're such a sweetie.
Mimi: Excuse me mom, I hate to ruin the love fest but may we be excused?
Mrs. Tachikawa: Of course!

(That night)
Mimi: *Yawn* Here Matt, sleep on my bed. My mom said, we had to be polite to guests.
Matt: *Looks at Mimi's bed and blushes* I c-can't.
Mimi: Don't be silly. Go to sleep.
Matt: I can't sleep on a bed when a lady sleeps on the ground!
Sora: *Rolls over in her sleeping bag on the floor* And what do you call me?
Mimi: *Giggles* Nothing Sora. *To Matt* Fine then, Sora, you sleep on my bed.
Sora: *Shrugs and gets up* What ever you say. *Hops into Mimi's bed*
Mimi: Ok, Matt, get on the floor!
Matt: *Turns pink* Ok.

(Next morning, Matt wakes up)
Matt: *Slowly opens his eyes, blinks twice, looks at the ceiling and thinks* It's morning...
Last night, Mimi looked so peaceful while she was sleeping. Like, like, like an... angel.
(Wanting to see Mimi's beautiful face, Matt turned his head)
Matt: *Looking at the empty space beside him and thinks* Hey! Where did she go? *Hears talking outside*

Matt: *During Mimi's conversation, Matt was listening through the door* ... *whispers* Oh Mimi...
Sora: Would you choose her?
Matt: *Jumps a little* OH! Sora! You scared me!
Sora: Sorry. But answer my question.

Sora: If your mother let's you choose your bride, would you choose Mimi?
Matt: *Stammers* I-I-I don't know.
Sora: Matt, you KNOW she likes you.
Matt: *Looks up* She does?
Sora: If she didn't why is she up this early calling your mom? Mimi never wakes up this early!

(Mimi opens the door)
Mimi: Oh my...
Matt: *Turns pink* Um, I just needed to go to the washroom.
(All three are frozen in their spots for a long time)
Mimi: Uh, I called your mom.
Matt: *Nods* I know
Mimi: *Disappointed* Oh. *Turns around and is about to walk out the door* She agreed to let
you choose your bride. You have till sunset only though. *Walks out the door*
Matt: *Looks at Sora*
Sora: Sunset, Matt, sunset.

(Later that afternoon at the Ishida residence, Matt is laying on his bed looking up to the ceiling*
Matt: Oh Mimi.
(His bedroom door swings open)
Jun: Hi there sleepy head!
Matt: *Sits up immediately* How the heck did you get in here!
Jun: *Dangles keys in front of him* Your mom gave me the keys this morning!
Matt: *Groans* Didn't my mom tell you that I would be engaged to whoever I wanted?
Jun: Yup! *Bounces on Matt's bed* That's why she let me have the keys. To convince you that I'm
who you want!
Matt: *Thinks* Note to self, burn bedsheets. *To Jun* Well, listen, you're not who I want.
Jun: But you're who I want and all I have to do is say the word, and you're mine!
Matt: *Thinks* Not if I find someone first! *To Jun* But what if I find someone else?
Jun: Then it's a race between me and her!
Matt: ...
Jun: *Chirpy annoying as hell voice* Well! It's time for me to go now! Bye Matty!!
Matt: *Gives Jun the "Death" look*

( 5 days later, Matt invites all the other digi-destined to his house for support. He
was to choose his bride in 5 minutes!!)

Izzy: Good luck Matt. Although the postion your mother is in, is completely comprehendable,
I will side with you.
Tai: *Looks at Izzy and has a sweatdrop* Ya, whatever.
Matt: I just don't know who to choose. If I don't choose, Jun is my defult bride. Ugh...
Sora: *Smiles*
Tai: Sora, why are you smiling?
Sora: I know that when the time comes, Matt will get freaked and choose right.
Tai: ... *Thinking* Um.. *Hugs Sora* NO! He will not take you away!
Sora: *Chuckle* Hehehe, I didn't mean me silly. *Kisses Tai's cheek*
Tai: *Turns red and sighs happily* Ok...
Nancy: *Walks into the room bringing Jun with her* It's time Matt!
Jun: Ya it's time!
Sora: *Looks at Mimi's pale face and whispers* What's wrong?
Mimi: Nothing... *Stares at Matt's back*
Nancy: Jun, are you ready?
Jun: *Nods* You have no one to choose Matt. I'm the only one.

Jun: Matt, face it, I'm the only one so hurry up and choose me so we can get engaged.
Matt: *Closes eyes, clenches teeth and holds his breath*
Jun: Yama-kun, hurry my buttercup.
Matt: *Angrily stands up* That's it! I wouldn't choose you if you were the last thing on this
planet! You're ugly, have no sense of humour and you're way too clingy!
Nancy: Then choose.
Matt: If I'm going to be married, I want to love the person I'm with!
Jun: Ha! Tough luck. You don't love anyone!
Matt: Yes I do!
All: *Surprised*
Jun and Nancy: You do?
Matt: Ya. ............ Mimi.....
All: *Look at Mimi*
Mimi: *Turns pink*
Jun: Ha! You might love her, but she doesn't like you! Look she's embarrassed!

All: *Looks even more surprised*

Matt: *Tears in his eyes thinks to himself* I AM loved afterall. Oh Mimi... *Drops to floor*
Mimi: *Surprised* Matt! *Runs to his side* Are you ok?
Matt: *Looks up at her beautiful flushed face with tears in his eyes* Were you serious about
loving me?
Mimi: *Salty, stinging tears brimmed Mimi's eyes* Yes, of course I was!
Matt: Oh Mimi, no one ever said that they loved me before...
Mimi: *Blinking back tears and thinks* Is he serious? *To Matt* Oh Matt...
Jun: *Pissed off* Well excuse me while I gag. None of you deserve each other you pathetic bunch
of ugly morons! You can never compete to me! *Leaves room*
Nancy: Jun! Wait! *Runs after her*
Matt: *Looks down at the carpet and closes his eyes* I must sound like a really idiot, don't I?
Mimi: *Shakes head* Uh uh. You're my idiot. *Smiles and flings her arms around his neck for a hug*
Matt: *Surprised at first but then puts his arms around her waist* I love you Mimi.
Mimi: I love you too Matt.
(Meanwhile the group is watching Matt and Mimi talk)
Joe: *Glares at Matt and Mimi*
Izzy: *Looks at Mimi and sighs*
Sora and Tai: *Looks at each other and hug*
Kari: *Smiles at the image of Tai and Sora embracing* *Leans back and move arms back, touching
someone's hand* Huh? *Turns head and her lips are locked in a kiss with TK*
TK: *Thinks* How did this happen? *After a few seconds* Whatever, I'm enjoying this...

(Weeks later Matt and Mimi were sitting under a tree in Odiaba park)
Matt: *Puts his arms around Mimi* Hey remember this place?
Mimi: *Chuckle* How could I forget. It's when you fainted at the sight of Jun.
Matt: *Laugh* Ya well, she WAS kind of scary.
Mimi: Too bad they withdrew the law. We could've been married you know.
Matt: Ya. But at least we're not taking it as bad as Tai. He's still furious! *Looks over
at the sand box in the playground*
Tai: *Kicking sand at the little kids* Why are you people building sand families? I could have a family
if I wanted to! ARG! Sora was my bride! You don't need sand brides!
Sora: *Walks up to Tai and dumps a cup of ice water on him*
Tai: AHH!!!
Sora: Knock it off! *Put her arms around his neck* I still love you. Isn't that what counts?
Tai: *Smiles in a half daze* Ya...
(Back at the tree)
Matt: *Laugh* Sora's always there to set him straight.
Mimi: *Giggles* Ya..
Matt: Mimi, I have something for you.
Mimi: *Surprised* You do?
Matt: *Opens up a little red box* It's a promise ring.
Mimi: Oh Matt! It's beautiful!! *Wraps her arms around him* But you're more precious to me.
Matt: *Smiles then the two embrace in a long and passionate kiss*
(Suddenly a scream interupts them, they part to see what wrong)
Sora: Let go you monster!
Tai: Ow. Ow. Ow.
Sora: Mimi! Help!
Mimi: *Still sitting with Matt* I wonder what's wrong.
Matt: Hey, what's that holding on to Tai?
Mimi: *Shocked* Hey!! That's Jun!! And she's kissing Tai and sorta biting his lips!
Sora: *Screaming* Mimi!!!!!
Jun: MINE!!!!
