Wednesday

Wednesday is my 1989 Arabian mare.

I was given this mare on my 14th birthday as a gift

from my Aunt who had her as a weanling, I was eight years old.

Because she was a small mare and I was a small girl

we were a perfect match. When ever I went camping

or did anything with her horses I would ride

or interact with this mare. Of course I bonded with her

and could only think of the day I would eventually

be able to own a horse just like her. I actually daydreamed of

owning her but what was the likely hood of that.

Well, it happened, on my birthday this mare became my

first and very own horse.  We started showing in 4-H and

qualified for the state fair every year, mostly in contesting and

English halter.  In 1999 we were the high point senior pony for

Contesting, and English events.

Most of these ribbons, plaques, and trophies are from the past

5 years showing her, some are from the last two years of the

5 showing Scooter in Halter.

Wednesday has done so much for me and others.

After 4-H  I went off to college and she

joined me, becoming a lesson horse for the

Ball State Equestrian Team and for private lessons.

She has also been leased out to two young girls

that were involved in pony club.  Dressage and

Jumping were the two disciplines we didn't do, but she

was apparently good at.  Who could believe this mare

started off as a fun trail horse and ended up being a

successful show horse and teaching many beginners.

I wouldn't trade this mare for the world.
