IvyPlus NJ FAQ
IvyPlus NJ FAQ

What is IvyPlus?
IvyPlus is a well-established, worldwide brand of academic institutions that principally includes the eight Ivies plus MIT and Stanford. Depending on the geographic area, other institutions (e.g. the Seven Sisters) will also constitute the local IvyPlus network.
The principal purpose of IvyPlus NJ is to foster fellowship among IvyPlus alumni clubs in the New Jersey area. IvyPlus events provide a wonderful opportunity for IvyPlus alumni to meet each other for social as well as business networking. The events are also a great way for the individual alumni clubs to acquire new members.

What kinds of events does IvyPlus NJ have for the alumni?

IvyPlus NJ events fall into two broad categories -- reflecting the two main reasons why IvyPlus networks form -- general audience and young alumni.
General audience events are for all IvyPlus alumni. This event type allows the individual clubs to garner critical mass for attendance for particular events that could not be obtained by any particular club on its own.
Young alumni events are for IvyPlus alumni, ages 21 - 39. For several reasons, young alumni are often absent from club events. This event type allows the clubs to maintain a connection to the young alumni.

Are guests welcome to attend events?
Yes. Guests must be accompanied by IvyPlus alumni.

Are the young alumni happy hours free?
The happy hours are free to attend, and pay-as-you-go for food and drinks.

I've been to the young alumni happy hours before. Should I still RSVP?
Yes, please. RSVPing helps the event organizer obtain an accurate headcount for the happy hour reservation.

Are the young alumni happy hours singles events?
No. The happy hours are for ALL young alumni, single, married, or otherwise.
