Famous retired acting couple Ronald Bi and Ivy Ling Po, well-known columnist and television personality Lau Tin Chi and popular all-round singer and entertainer Teresa Carpio have joined forces with the city's Toronto: You Belong Here campaign to encourage Torontonians to be tourists in their own town. The four celebrities will appear in a series of print ads that will be placed in Chinese newspapers throughout the summer. In the ads, the celebrities praise Toronto for its offering of leisure activities, multicultural dining experiences and tremendous shopping. The ads then urge Torontonians to enjoy the summer in the city and pick up a copy of the official Toronto Playbook. The "Toronto: You Belong Here" campaign is part of the City of Toronto's efforts to engage Torontonians and boost the recovery of the city's economy from the impact of the SARS outbreak.
