Plot Summary
While living in an utopia world, seven daughters of the Heavenly King are allowed to interact with the earthbound individuals. One day, the sisters secretly observe the earth life and come across a young man, Tung Yung (Ling Po). Upon learning that he has sold himself to be a servant in order to give his father a decent burial, Seven Sister (Fang Ying) falls in love with him for his good deed. She asks First Sister to cover for her as she set off to earth.

Meets Tung Yung on his way to fulfill his servitude contract, Seven Sister tricks him into marrying her. The young couple then heads off to the employer's home. Once there, Seven Sister makes a pack with the employer which states that if she can weave ten yards of cloth in one night, then her husband's term of employment will be reduced from 3 years to 100 days. If she can't, then the contract will extend from 3 years to 6 years.

Through the magical ability, the task is completed by dawn. After 100 days, Tung Yung and Seven Sisters are happily heading home. On the way, Tung is thrilled to find out that he is soon to be a father. After he set off looking for water and food, the Heavenly Guards deliver the King's demand for Seven Sister to return to heaven. If she refuses, they will end her husband life.

Without a choice, she reveals her true identity to Tung Yung and departs while he is rendered unconscious. When awaken, Tung searches everywhere but still finds no trace of his wife. She left a note saying that by next spring, he will find their child under the nearby tree.
Review
The storyline and Ling Po's performance at the end really reminds me of a song with two lines as follow:
"I will remember you...
Will you remember me?"
This film was done right after the success of THE LOVE ETERNE. And similar to it, the movie contains a happy beginning and a sad ending. While Ling Po was amazing in her role, her co-star was not very persuasive. When lipsynched, Fang Yin seemed to lack the emotions. All in all, it was a moving story and one great performance by Ling Po.
DVD Information
This movie had been re-released by Taiwan in 2000. The DVD is watchable in its cropped version. Celestial Pictures Limited is in the process of releasing this film, possible timeline would be the end of 2003 or sometime in 2004.
