Rhiannon the horse goddess.
Also known by the name Epona, Rosette, the word is derived from the Celtic word Horse.  She was the Celtic horse goddess also associated with birds.
Many Images of Rhiannon appeared  during the Roman perod.  She was particularly venerated in Gaul and in the Rhineland but she appears also in Britian, Yugoslavia, North Africa and in Rme.
She is associated with water and healing and with death.  in Gual
she was depicated in the guise of a water nymph.  Frequently she was also also represented with a dog which could reflect either healing or death.  The symbolism of afterlife may be represented by her on her mare with the image of a man gehind the goddess.  This has been interpreted as a human soul carried to the otherworld.  Also she can be portrayed carrying a large key.  This may show the ability to unlock the gates to the Otherworld.

She was a patroness of hrses, which were very important for the Celts in terms of transportation, war, prestige, power and religion, but also as the deep mysteries of life, death and rebirth.

Her day in Rome is December 18th, they praise her, they believe she is the one to watch over their soldiers and their horses
