Macha is an ancient warrior celtic goddess, the queen of Ulster who gave her name to the ancient capital Emain Macha means the Jewel of Macha.  She is one of the 5 war goddess of the Irish Gaels, known as the Badb,
They are:

Macha and the Morrigan.
Stated back then the Celtic goddess were just as fierce and capible of war, death and distruction as the males.
Alot of great warriors drew the power from these great war gqeens who were often inclined to lend their help in battles or when the need arose.

It was the Morrigan and Macha who helped the Tuatha when they landed in Eire to battle against Fir Bolgs, a great conjuring Druid sending showers of fire and blood against them.

There are a few diffrent legends out there about Macha, in some she is from the DeDanann race and others she appears as a mortal queen, which lleads to cnfusion as to exactly who she really is.

In the Native Celtic system, 3 is a sacred number, it is the number of wholeness represented also as the 3 levels of being, Physical, mental and spiritual.

Macha is an ancient visionary deity, and prophetess, she was the wife of Nemed the sacred one.

Her symbol was the raven or crow, like many goddess she was a shapechanger, and often turned into raven or hooded crow. And other times she can be seen as a beautiful maiden, or an old hag, But for the most part it is the carrion crow.

Also known as the nine loosed tresses on her head, a sign of her connection to the ninefold goddess of the cauldron.  Goddess of the rivers, lakes, and fresh water.

It was also said she would wash the clothing of the men that were about to die in combat.  One legend says she died by racing a horse while pregnant, at the finish line, she had given birth to twins, and die.
