| Her symbols are fire which was the Celts� only source of energy, it brought heat and civilization. Also sometimes symbolized by a white dove, or a white swan. Some also claim her symbol to be water, it seems contradictory with the fire, but if by water the Celts meant hot springs that would make better sense. The Celts were very involved in the healing power of Brigit, Some say that there were many rivers that were her source of healing, this would also tie in the fire and water conflict. It was once said that a crystal drop from the mantle of Brigit touched the earth and created a deep lake named Tir-Na-Moe, which meant land of the living heart, this was a place that many went to heal from their battle wounds, including the Tuatha. She is honored during the festival of Imbolc, due she died on February 1, 525. (as legend holds it.) One of the customs connected with Brigit and Imbolc is to leave a piece of cloth outside from sunset to sunrise, to confer on it and protective and healing powers. This piece of cloth should be left in the house for the rest of they year and used in the next Imbolcs to follow.
