Recognizing that our highest purpose as students is to glorify God, the WorshipTeam of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Berkeley exists to encourage students through music and praise while striving in our personal lives to lead lives of uncompromising worship. To this end, we look to four principles to encourage us towards these goals:

HUMILITY. Philippians 2:3 says, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves." As musicians and leaders, we serve not to bring praise and recognition to ourselves, but to focus and direct all attention on God. Whatever talents and gifts we have were given to us by God. Thus, we consider serving a privilege, and desire humility in all of our thoughts and actions.

INTEGRITY. As visible leaders of our fellowship, and as children called by God to righteousness, we desire to be people of integrity. We desire to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and for that love to be reflected in our lives. Though we continue to struggle with sin, we are committed to growth and intimacy with Jesus in our life-long journeys towards holiness.

UNITY. We desire to be a praying community of believers committed to love one another through accountability and encouragement. This is achieved through meetings, retreats, and activities. And we like to have fun, y'all!

EXCELLENCE. In 2Samuel 24:24 David says, "I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing." Likewise, we desire to give God the best we have to offer. Through practice and dedication, we desire excellence in all that we do.
