Entry for May 16, 2006
I got this letter from a fan, and thought some of you might share the question, Here then is the comment;
"Hey can I see your unedited versions of your pics, and another, I think drawing high school age guys would be even hotter, plus high school guys are usually more malicious. And one more thing, I love your color drawings that show the city views and stuff. You're awesome..."
Thanks,
this is what I wrote back.
I am always glad to find someone who likes my work. As far as the "unedited" versions of my work, I would consider it, any particular piece? As you would imagine, it would be more than risky to show my uncensored works online. As much as I would like to, I have to obey the conventions of society, or face grim consequences. still if there is a particular montage or drawing you suspect of being "cleaned up" let me know and I will check and see if the original version is available for e-mail.
In my early drawings, age mattered less, As my work developed, I guess I just felt Giant Kids met my artistic needs, and so it's been that way ever since. There are plenty of others doing older teens and grownups, for me, nothing captures the cross between being innocent and massively destructive as my Mega Boys. I think it's the paradox that drives me.
I am proud of my drawings, the color for the most part, is an add on, applied once I figured out how, with the "magic" of Photo-shoping. Sad to say, I haven't done a good giant drawing in a long time, but the older works are patiently awaiting my colorization. It's like experiencing them anew as I color them.
I don't IM very much. Time is usually an issue. I can never assure a free moment, when I am not working on my montages, or doing other computer stuff. "
