We also visited Deir-al-Medina or the Monastery of the Town. We saw the ruins of the Workmen's Village. Many of the artists and workers who helped build the royal tombs lived and were buried here. We visited the tombs of Aneuka and the tomb of Sennedjem. I only shot pictures in the tomb of Sennedjem. Again, in hind sight, should have taken a lot more pictures! The four pictures below were taken from the tomb of Sennedjem. The colors are still amazingly clear and vivid after a couple thousand years!! |

The four photographs were taken in the tomb of Sennedjem without flash, using 1600 speed film. Wish I had thought about the high speed film earlier in the tour! |

The Colossi of Memnon (top and left). There are two large (about 50 foot) high statues, the only remnants from an ancient temple at this location. The statues were damaged during an earthquake about 2000 years ago. |

That evening we had dinner at the Jamboree Restaurant in Luxor. I had chicken curry with rice. Wasnt too bad and a good change from the food that I had been eating the past few days. The next day we visited the Temples of Karnak and Luxor. |
