The Australian Division of the IVAO welcomes all domestic and international pilots and controllers to the first flight event in the Australian calendar specially designed for Visual Flight Rules pilots.
This event will be used to introduce pilots to the principals of flight in a VFR regime, particularly in <<link to GAAP website on AsA webpage??>> General Aviation Aerodrome Procedures (GAAP) aerodromes. Australia has six <<?>> of these aerodromes located in the capital city areas. GAAP aerodromes are primarily designed for flying training, and have particular procedures associated with them.
The Event Director is the Australian Events Coordinator, Darren Smith.
The Event Director has appointed an Event Monitor for this event, who is a specialist in the operations being used during this event. Any questions on operations in the Archerfield GAAP area should be directed to him in the first instance. The Event Monitor (General Aviation) will be the Australian Membership Coordinator, Mike Wethereld.
Pilots will be required to register for this event using the IVAO Slot System. Aircraft will be restricted to those with a MAUW less than 5700kg.

Pilots operating within the GAAP will be required to fly at least the profile above, before departing the airfield for other sortie profiles.
NOTAMs for participating aerodromes will be published here.

Airservices Australia do not provide free downloads of their enroute charts at this point in time so controllers and pilots will not be required to hold these charts.
