Dalton conference – ICT in ENGLISH, Brno, Czech Republic, 30-31.10.2007, presentation, in Czech, 45 min
This presentation introduced the didactics of Informatics in English. It gave the listeners a clear and thorough summary on teaching a subject in English. It received positive reactions because it met the listeners’ needs precisely.
The presentation was a component part of an international conference on Dalton teaching. This is a new progressive approach to education established by Helen Parkhurst in 1920 in the USA. It wants to tailor each student's program to his or her needs, interests and abilities; to promote both independence and dependability; to enhance the student's social skills and sense of responsibility toward others. The elementary school where I teach is one of several Czech Dalton schools, that is why we were asked to give there a presentation on CLIL as a new and modern method of teaching.

Dalton conference – ICT in ENGLISH, Brno, Czech Republic, 30-31.10.2007, sample CLIL lesson, in English, 45 min

Language education creatively, Prague, Czech Republic, 29.11.2007, presentation, in Czech, 30 min
This was a conference for kindergarten, elementary and secondary school teachers, and for persons working in the area of language education. There were present the representative of the Czech ministry of education and the representatives of the Czech research institute of education.
I was supposed to present the curriculum and didactics of Informatics in English which I did. However, during the presentation I got many questions on how CLIL works in practice. Then I talked about the research design, division of pupils to the research groups, and research results. The persons who asked me were usually teachers from elementary and secondary schools who wanted to start teaching CLIL lessons. The representative of the Czech ministry of education gave a detailed explanation of the Czech Republic CLIL legislation.
