Professional

A professional is an individual who gets things done.  From a regular Joe who works with his hands to a highly-paid troubleshooter, professionals make adaptable adventurers.  Bodyguards, craftsmen, experts at a particular skill or scholarly subject, and even spies, thugs, and hit-men can all come from the ranks of the professionals.

 
Abilities:
Depending on the type of professional you want, any and all of the ability scores will be useful.  Professionals hired to do "dirty work" typically favor Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution, while the more cerebral sort of professional will want Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma.  In any event, Intelligence has the most impact on the professional's versatility, so even a combat-oriented professional will want high Intelligence.

Class Skills
The professional's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Craft (Int), Knowledge (streetwise) (Int), Profession (Wis), Repair (Int), Survival (Wis), and any ten other skills of the character's choice.  (A professional character may select "all Knowledge skills, chosen individually" in place of two regular class skill picks.)
Skill Points at 1st Level: (8 + Int modifier) × 4.
Skill Points at Each Additional Level: 8 + Int modifier.

Class Features

All of the following are class features of the professional:

Starting Feats: Professionals begin with Simple Weapons Proficiency, Light Armor Proficiency, and a choice of either Personal Firearms Proficiency or any one Martial or Exotic Weapon Proficiency.

Bonus Feats:
At 1st and 2nd levels, and every level divisible by 4, the professional earns a bonus feat. Professional bonus feats are not restricted to a list, and may be any feat for which the character normally qualifies.

Barter: A 3rd-level professional gets a +5 bonus to Bluff, Diplomacy, and Intimidate checks used when buying, selling, or haggling over equipment.

 

Know-How: The professional has a knack for practical knowledge and receives a bonus to Repair and Survival checks.
