Waikanae Weekend
It was one of those perfect sunny weekends, when sun and spirits are high. So a few of us from photo club packed our bags and cruised off to Waikanae. We rented a big house on the beach. It had big windows overlooking the beach and the Kapiti Island. And having a swim is just a matter of putting your swimming suit on and getting out of the door.

Then we decided it would be a good idea to get something for dinner. Strawberries were a good start. We found a PYO place nearby and picked so many strawberries that for the next 2 days we had them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Inger was lady in red and 2 punnets of strawberries were just what was needed for a perfect photo.

BBQ in the evening - what a great idea. Brent is getting a few dry sticks and the fire is on the way.
Graham was our constant inspiration for taking the right photos at the right time. He even let me use his big lens - boy it is heavy, but so cool!
This portrait was done by Brent on one of those perfect calm evenings with the warm glow of a setting sun.
A queue of keen photographers was at the waterfront that evening, trying to capture a perfect sunset.
Some were not so keen on photography, enjoying a moment is what it is all about...
Graham, taking a shot of cricket players.
Finally, food.
