May 17, 1778

Dear Sir:
His Excellency desires that a select party of fifty dragoons,
men that may be depended on, with able Horses,
well accoutred and conducted by active partisan Officers,
may be ordered to march forthwith to our old camp at Whitemarsh,
where they will meet and join a detachment of Infantry from the
Commanding Officer of which they will receive their Orders.
