Anyway, what was nice about the whole trip was not having to hear the news for 60 whole days. That was something at least. Also I met a lot of very nice people who were on their hols. Many Germans for some reason. I wish I'd been there I mean visited the place some time in my past ( I nearly said youth then ), we might of had something to talk about.

"Hullo, where are you from?"
"Germany"
"Where abouts?"
"Dortmund"
"Oh right, is that in the south?"
"No"

Then it's their turn and for some reason it's very difficult to say the word 'England'.

"Where are you from?"
"U.K."
"Sorry, where?"
"U.K."
"Never heard of it"
"Britain"

Did you ever see Fawlty Towers, the episode with the Germans where Basil tries not to mention 'the War'?
So yes, I was really pleasantly surprised at just how many nice people I met down there.

And yes I got rid of that dratted computer I gave it to the kids, well I intended to give it anyway but I flogged it to them instead. Now I'm back in Bangkok I find I miss it which just goes to show how badly I need to distract myself.

Robert has just been released from the monk's hospital and is feeling rather weak at the moment. The Doc says he has an enlarged heart due to high blood pressure. He's taking it easy. This means he's not fighting the other monks simply ignoring them.

So can we be expecting you back in Sunny Siam soon; the near future like? You mentioned something about coming for a visit sometime (perhaps a little more permanent, who knows) will it be before Vassa do you think? Whenever I'll probably still be here no doubt if I don't blow a gasket before and go AWOL or something dramatic like that.

Well that's about it for now. You didn't mention in your last letter whether you are massaging at all. How's that going?
