Chapter
forty five:
Christy
opened the door to Isaac’s hotel room, pushing the door closed with her foot.
“Isaac?
Honey?” She called.
“In
here!” He appeared from the bedroom, folding a pair of pants.
“Hey,
I brought you a coffee.” She held up one of the cups in her hand. “Venti black.”
“Oh,
that’s great. Thank you so much.” He took the coffee and kissed her cheek.
“You’re
welcome. What are you doing?”
“I’m
just packing.”
“Oh,
cool. Need any help?”
He
smiled and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “No, I think I’ll be able to
finish myself. What do you want to do now?”
“I
want to hang out with you.” She smiled.
“Great.
Because I want to hang out with you.” He leaned
forward and kissed her.
She
smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back.
“Actually,”
He interrupted. “Lets just do this, and warm our
coffee’s up later…”
Christy
giggled. “Sounds like a plan to me…” She put her coffee down on the counter,
where he placed his.
“Come
here.” He scooped her up, with one hand behind her knees and one around her
back.
Christy
giggled. “Oh no, you’ve got you clean
clothes all over the bed!”
“Yeah,
but we can fix that.” He put her down on her feet, and
in one quick movement, lifted the duvet and flipped all of the clothes off onto
the floor.
Christy
laughed. “That’s being creative, isn’t it?”
“Yeah? Well I can really surprise you…”

Luke
stepped out of the cab and onto the sidewalk in front of the hotel. He took his
bags around to the back and left his bags on the bus, taking only the small
carry on he needed for the night.
He
asked for his pass at the front desk and the spare key-card for the room he
would now be sharing with Zac.
“Can
you tell me what room Becky Carter and Jenna Benson are staying in?”
The
woman behind the counter typed the names into the computer. “Room 1108.”
“Thank
you.”
He
took the elevator up to the 11th floor and showed the pass to the
security guard. He was so excited to see Jenna; he skipped putting his bag in
his room and went straight to the girl’s room.
He
knocked loudly and after a minute, Becky pulled open the door.
“Hey, Luke-man!” Zac stood up and gave him a high five.
“Hey, Zac-man!”
“Luke!
I thought you weren’t coming until later!” Becky hugged him.
“Yeah,
but I got to talking to Jen last night. She seemed a little down and I really
miss her. So I caught the red-eye.”
“Oh
that’s great! She’ll be so surprised!”
“Where
is she? Is she here?” Luke asked, putting down his bag.
“No.
She umm… went for a walk with
“She
did?”
“Yeah…
“Oh…
umm… do you mind if I hang out here?”
