Chapter
thirty two:
Christy
stirred gently in her sleep.
Isaac
pulled her closer to his body to keep her warm and just to be able to hold her.
He
smiled privately to himself and bent to kiss her lips.
“Mmmph,” She mumbled in her sleep.
His
smile broadened and he tilted his head and kissed her cheek, then her jaw.
Christy
smiled. “You know, kissing me like that is making it a lot harder to keep
celibate.”
He
laughed. “We’re not keeping celibate… we’re abstaining from… relations until we
know how serious this relationship is…” He attempted to clarify. It wasn’t as
if he wanted to wait, he just felt they should. In fact, the more time he spent
with her, he found himself falling deeper for her. He was absolutely crazy
about her. Every time he discovered something new about her, he liked her even
more.
Christy
sighed heavily and wrapped her arms around his body, resting her cheek against
his chest. “What are you thinking
about?”
“Nothing
really,” He gently stroked her soft hair.
“Okay…
where is everyone else?”
“They’re
at the mall. We stopped about 15 minutes ago, I just
didn’t want to wake you. You looked peaceful.”
She
smiled. That was sweet. “How long was I out?”
“About
forty-five minutes.”
“Really? That long?” She looked up at him, stretching
slightly. “Why didn’t you wake me?”
“Because
I know you didn’t sleep well last night, and I thought you might want to rest.
But if you want, we’re here for a few more hours… we could go to the mall.”
She
smiled “Okay. Give me five minutes?”
“Sure.”
She
kissed him and escaped to the washroom with her make up bag in tow.

Jenna
was standing in the middle of the record store, turning a CD over in her hands.
Luke
appeared behind her from the video section and gently touched her arm. “Who’s
that?”
“This?
This is Silverchair. They rock.” Jenna smiled.
“I’ve
never heard of them.”
“Really? Come here.” She grasped his hand and pulled him
towards a listening display and pressed a few buttons before sliding the giant
headphones onto his ears.
He listened for a moment, bopping his head lightly to the music.
“This
isn’t bad!” He shouted.
Jenna
laughed.
”What’s so funny?” he yelled again.
Jenna
laughed harder and covered his mouth with both her hands.
His
eyes grew wide and he removed the headphones and slipped them onto her head.
She
removed her hands from his mouth to take the headphones off.
He
said “I think the headphones look better on you, but I don’t see what was so
funny…” He couldn’t hide a grin.
“Nothing,
just that you were yelling and people we’re looking.”
“Oh,
that.” He smiled. “Well, I have a solution…”
“What’s
that?”
“Lets go see a movie. Anything you’ve been dying to see?” He
draped an arm around her shoulders.
“Hmm….
Well, it depends on what’s playing…And who takes me…” She teased.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Becky
stopped to admire a display of purses outside a store. Zac stopped next to her
and watched her until she looked directly at him, smiled and said “What?”
“Nothing.” He returned her smile. He gently took her hand.
“Do you want to stop and get something to eat?”
Becky
paused. “I’m not really hungry, but I’d like to get a soda or something to
drink…”
“Okay.”
He said. He hoped by the time they found the food court she would be a little
hungry.
“Okay,
I’m done looking.”
“You
don’t want to go in?”
“No,
I’m fine.” She smiled. “You’re probably starving too, right?”
“A little.” He said. In all honesty, he was famished.
Becky
smiled. “Okay.”
“Can
I ask something?” He asked cautiously.
“Of course.”
“Is
everything okay? You’ve been a little quiet today…”
Becky
smiled. “I’m fine.” It was sweet that he had noticed.
“Okay.”
He bent and gently kissed her. “Hey, how about we go for ice cream?”
“Ice cream?” She giggled. “For dinner?”
“Sure.
Why not?”
Becky
smiled and slipped her arm through his. “Well, I could really go for a banana
split right now. Will you share it with me?”
“Of course.”
