Chapter two
hundred and fifty-two:
After the sound
check, Isaac, Taylor and Zac gathered in the VIP room.
Zac occupied the
other three fourths of the sofa, stretched out and snoring.
Isaac looked
around the room and finally stood. He removed his cell phone from his pocket
and dialed Luke’s number.
“Hello?” He
asked after several rings.
“Luke, it’s Isaac.”
“Hey, man.”
“How are the
girls?”
“Alright,
they’re watching movies.”
“Any
trouble?”
Luke paused.
“Well…”
Isaac smiled to
himself. “Am I right to assume my wife is behind some of that trouble?”
Luke sighed on
the other end. “They spoke to the fans.”
“I thought-“
“I told them not
to!” Luke defended. “I specifically told them not to speak to anyone on the way
to the cab.”
“What did they
say?”
“Someone asked
Christy if she was your wife…”
Christy shouted
something in the background.
“What as that?”
Isaac asked.
“Christy says
that I shouldn’t talk about her like she isn’t here.”
Isaac laughed.
“Okay. What did Christy say?”
“She just said
yes. Then they asked if she was pregnant.”
“Oh shit. She
didn’t admit to anything, did she?”
“No, all she
said was ‘Not yet’.”
Isaac laughed. “Oh
yeah, that’s my wife.”
Luke laughed at
that comment. “They spoke to Jen too, it was really weird.”
“What did they
say?”
“It was really
bold… they seem to be under the impression that Jen is dating
“Really?”
“Yeah, and when
I touched her, they called her a whore.”
“Are you
serious? That’s insane! Girls are brutal to each other.”
“I know.” Luke
shook his head.
“You’re probably
going crazy with those three girls there.”
“Not really.
They’ve pretty much kept to themselves. Although, I’ve already been informed
that I need to switch to a leave in conditioner to give my hair more volume and
I have an oily T-zone… whatever that means.”
This sent Isaac
laughing again.

Zac followed his
older brother’s to the stage.
“Don’t forget
that we’ve changed the order, Zac.”
“I know.” Zac
said quickly. “I changed the order on my set list already.”
“Good.”
“And don’t
forget your part in ‘Where’s the Love’, you missed it last night.” Isaac
reminded.
“That was a
mistake.” Zac replied. “I was distracted.”
“By
what?”
“I don’t know,
the girl in the front row with the big breasts throwing her red thong on the
stage?” Zac retorted.
His brothers
laughed at this.
They arrived at
the side of the stage, just as the stage hands were removing the last few
pieces of the opening-band’s gear from the stage.
Zac tucked his monitors in his ears as his brothers did the same.
They went
through their backstage ritual, the same as they did every night, and took the
stage for their set.
