Chapter one
hundred and ninety-nine:
Jenna and Luke were dancing to the music, twirling and dancing
foolishly to the music.
Jenna burst out laughing as Luke spun her at arms length and then
twirled her in closer to his body. “You’re insane!”
“I know!” He shouted back.
She laughed out loud as he dipped her backwards and pulled her
back up neatly.
The fast song ended and a slower song began. He pulled her closer
immediately.
”Finally.” He smiled. “I have barely gotten a chance
to dance with you all day.”
“I know. I got stuck dancing with Christy’s dad earlier, and he
can barely stand.”
Luke laughed.
They broke apart when someone cleared their throat next to them.
“Mind if I cut in?”
Luke opened his mouth to say no, but Jenna beat him to it. “Sure.
I don’t mind.” She smiled.
“Yeah, I think I’ll go see if I can find my sister Jamie. I think
I owe her a dance anyway.”
Luke sauntered off in the crowd and Jenna smiled at
Jenna laughed. “You’re one of those old-fashioned dancers huh?”
“Yeah, I know.” He flushed softly. “I usually dance a different
way, but I thought this way was more… appropriate.”
“Appropriate?” She asked in confusion. “What do you mean?”
“Listen…” He sighed. “I know things between us left off kind of-“
“
“Good.” He smiled. “I hope we can still be friends?”
“Of course,
He sighed. “I… I’m not going to lie. I still have feelings for you
Jen…But I think we should be friends.”
“I know.” She smiled and kissed his cheek.
“As a friend.” She clarified. “And a
thank you for helping me see that I belong with Luke.”

Christy managed to break away from the swarms of people who flocked to
congratulate her on her marriage. She loved the attention, but she just needed
a second to breathe.
The sun was slowly beginning to set over the hill and the entire
wedding reception was plunging into brilliant gold before twilight set in.
And in addition to that, she felt like she hadn’t seen her husband since they
had said ‘I do’ a few hours earlier.
“There you are!” Isaac’s
voice came behind her.
He stood holding a plate of finger food in his left hand. “I’ve been looking
for you.” He took a few steps closer and kissed her lips.
”I’ve been looking for you!” she
smiled.
“Here… I brought you some food. I thought you should eat
something.” With his free hand he gently touched her stomach.
“Baby, we’re not even one-hundred-percent sure yet…” She began.
“I know. I’m just excited. Can you eat something?”
“I just did.” She said truthfully. “Your mother has been stuffing
me full of food all day long, because she thinks I’m too thin.”
“Welcome to the family.” He laughed. “If you don’t have food in
your mouth, my mom thinks you’re not eating enough.” He chuckled and set down
the plate of food.
“Baby?”
“Yeah, C?” He smiled.
“Will you dance with me? Again?”
“Again?”
She nodded. “I’ve danced with pretty much everyone else, including
my father; who, by the way, practically called me a whore in front of your
entire family. And now I want to dance with my perfect husband.”
He smiled. “Really? Your
perfect husband? I’ll see if he’s around…” He teased.
Christy laughed and grabbed his hand. “Shut up and dance with me.”
She pulled him to the dance floor and wrapped her arms tightly around his neck.
He smiled and rested his cheek against her soft hair and whispered
to her.
“I can’t believe we’re married.”
“Me too.” She smiled. “I’m so happy.”
“Me too.” He laughed softly. “This has been
perfect.”
“It has.”
“And your parents are behaving. Your dad hasn’t hit on my sister
yet and it’s getting dark…”
“Ahh… but the night is still young.”
Christy laughed. “He’s become great friends with
Isaac laughed. “I heard about that. Blackmail for life!”
They were silent for a few minutes, simply moving to the music.
”Baby?” She asked.
”Mmm-hmm?” held her closer.
“Are you scared?”
“About what?” He asked furrowing his brow in slight
confusion.
”About the baby… or the possibility of a baby.”
“Yeah, I’m a little scared. But I’m mostly happy that pretty soon
we’ll have something that we created out of love for each other.”
Christy smiled, and all her fears slowly melted away. “Me
too.”
