Chapter one
hundred and eighty-four
Becky followed
Zac out of the elevator. She playfully wedged herself between the door and Zac’s
body as he attempted to unlock the door.
“Hey!” He
laughed.
She grinned and
grasped his t-shirt firmly in her fingers, pulling him closer.
Zac’s lips
matched her grin and leaned forward to kiss her, forgetting the key in his
hand.
“Maybe we should
go inside.” Becky stopped him, just before his lips touched hers.
“Okay.” He said,
a little too eagerly. He unlocked the door and held it open for her politely.
She stepped
inside and dropped her purse on the coffee table, quickly removing her hoodie and dropped it too.
“I had a great
time tonight,” She said. “Who would have thought bowling could be so much fun?”
“I know. I can
be brilliant sometimes without even trying.” He smiled slyly. He crossed the
room and looped his arms around her waist. “Where were we?”
Becky laughed
and kissed his lips softly.
Within mere
seconds, the kiss deepened and she wound her fingers in his hair.
His hands moved
slowly up her back, drawing her closer to his body.
When the kiss
broke, he smiled at her.
“Wow.” She smiled.
“I know.” He
chuckled. “You okay? Want to keep going?”
She nodded, “Yeah.”
He grinned and
leaned forward to kiss her once again.
A loud pounding
at their door interrupted them.
Zac groaned out
loud and dropped his head in his hand.
Becky shrugged
helplessly. “Want me to answer it?”
“No…” He dropped
his voice to a whisper. “Let’s pretend we’re not here. You sneak into the other
room and I’ll turn off all the lights.”
Becky laughed. “I’ll
get the door.”
She walked past
him and pulled open the door to find
”Hi,
“Hey, you’re
here. I was wondering… is Jen with you?”
“No, I thought
she was with you.”
“She’s not. I
just knocked on the door and she isn’t there. I tried her cell and she isn’t
answering.”
“You know… I
think she maybe needs some time alone… I’m sure she’s okay.” “You’re right. I
guess I’m just worried about her…”
Becky clapped
“Will you do me
a favor? Will you call her in a bit to see if you can get through?”
“I will.”
“Thanks, Becks. Talk to you later.”
“Bye.”
Becky closed the
door with a heavy sigh, pressing her back against the door.
She decided that
it was best to leave Jen for now and try to help in the morning. If she sought
out Jen now, it would only cause a fight. And it would only result in more
confusion for Jen.
She pushed
herself away from the door and went off to the bedroom to find Zac.
