Chapter one hundred and seventy-five:

Isaac was standing by himself backstage after the show. He had used the shower in the backstage area as he knew that Zac was probably in the one on the bus.

He decided to take a few moments to make sure all of the instruments were properly put away in the right crates and cases.

He laid his favorite guitar in it’s case and buckled the fasteners. He locked it and removed the travel tag, and replace it with a new one to be sure it wasn’t lost or misplaced anywhere.

He sat down on a crate which contained part of Zac’s drum set.

“Hey, there you are.”

Isaac looked up to see Taylor entering the room.

“You we’re looking for me?” Isaac asked.

“Well, not really. The girls all went to bed, and I thought I’d stretch my legs a bit before we take off again for the hotel. Christy said she was going to bed early, so I thought I’d spend some quality time with my instruments.”

“Cool.”

Taylor flopped down on a chair and propped his feet up on an empty crate. “You know we have roadies for that right?”

Isaac shrugged. “If I do this do I get two pay checks?”

Taylor chuckled. “Right.”

“So what’s on your mind?” Isaac asked, after a moment of silence.

“What makes you think there’s something on my mind?” Taylor questioned.

Isaac shrugged. “I just made an assumption because you’re here and not sleeping or doing anything else.”

Taylor sighed. He hated that his brother knew him so well. “I kissed Jenna.”

Isaac raised his eyebrows in alarm. “You did? What happened?”

Taylor dropped his face into his palm. “I… I don’t know. We went to see Kevin’s band, you know, Satan’s Caverns? And we were dancing, and I just… kissed her, I guess.”

“And she let you?”

“She kissed back.”

“She did? What about Luke and their relationship? Is there even a relationship anymore?”

“I don’t know. I’ve kind of been avoiding her… I’m afraid she might not want to make anything more than a kiss out of this.”

“Okay…” Isaac drawled slowly, attempting to understand the situation.

Taylor sighed. “I’ve just… liked her for so long, I don’t want to screw up this chance, you know?”

“But how do you even know you have a chance?”

Taylor paused, thinking over his brother’s words very carefully. “I guess I don’t know.”
