Chapter one
hundred and seventy:
Christy had to
practically jog to keep up with Isaac’s wide stride through the hotel lobby.
“Do you think
they’ll notice that we’re late?” Christy asked un-necessarily.
He tried not to
smile at her comment but was unable to stop a laugh which he was unable to
suppress.
She came to a
sudden stop next to him, thankful for the moment to breath. Walking quickly in
heels was not easy.
“I’m sure
they’ll notice. We should come up with a good excuse for why we were late,
hmm?” He leaned forward and kissed her forehead.
“There’s no
reason to lie. We should just tell them we were having sex.” Christy shrugged.
Isaac laughed.
“You’re comfortable with the entire bus knowing we were up all night having
sex?”
“Aren’t you?”
She teased.
“Well, as much
as I’d love to tell my brothers and my brother’s girlfriend and her best friend
about my wife and my sex life-“
She laughed.
“Well, when you put it that way…”
“We could tell
them that we had a problem with checking out.”
Christy laughed. “That’s brilliant. You’re a pro at coming up with excuses not
to tell your brothers we were up all night having sex and then had to have a
quickie the next morning.”
His face turned
slightly red, causing her to laugh harder.
He cleared his
throat. “Why don’t we just tell them we slept in? It won’t be a total lie… we
were in bed after all.”
Christy laughed.
“We’d better hurry or we’ll really be late.”
“Well,
technically we still have the room for another forty-five minutes.”
She laughed and
tugged his arm. “We have to get to the next show. We’ve got to get to
“Ahh, who needs a career?” He teased, wrapping his arms around her.
Christy dropped
her purse and her carry-on bag and wrapped her arms around him. “It sounds
good, but I don’t want to be branded a Yoko or a Courtney Love or anything.”
“Courtney Love?”
He inquired.
“I’ll explain
later.” She tugged his arm. “We’re going to be late. They’ll leave without us.”
They reached the
bus just as the door flew open and
“Sorry. We umm…”
Christy began.
“We slept in.”
Isaac exchanged glances with Christy. “Sorry.”
Christy smiled and kissed Isaac’s cheek before climbing the stairs onto the
bus.
